Ive been a patient of Drayton Surgery for at least 20 years, so I believe, due to my lived experience I am in a position to give valid critical feedback. Im not a frequent flyer by any means in the practice, but I’ve always been treated with dignity and respect …. Until my latest intervention where I have requested support with my health where life style changes and self help have not supported me to feel better. My recent journey is one that has been fraught with tiresome processes, lack of privacy, 4 telephone contacts, two GP consultations, two E consults and an incredibly disempowering visit with a receptionist face to face in surgery trying to just book an appt, as requested by a GP. I do understand that individuals live with complex health conditions, demand is high and complexity beyond what you’ve ever experienced. However I just wanted to see a consistent GP, decide my options and treatment pathway, so I feel confident and start to feel better. You’ve not been able to, you’ve taken on more than you can manage which has resulted in you not being able to meet the needs of your registered patients, in my opinion. As a result.. tomorrow I will need to complete another e consult.. wait for another call .. see/speak to potentially to yet another GP and start all again…. It’s just tiresome.

I’m very disappointed with trying to get to see a person eg doctor or nurse. I’ve waited for responses to my e- consults twice now - this system is not working for me

Review titled Appointment for physio
Rated 2 stars out of 5

From my 8am phone call I was given an appointment to see a Nurse Practitioner at Wootton Street on Monday 26 June. That was good and I was given an appointment for physio at Lake Road surgery on Saturday 1 July at 10:45. However the appointment was actually made with a doctor so a waste of both our times. I visited the Drayton surgery on Monday 3 July where I received an apology ad the receptionist arranged for Solent physio to ring me that morning which they did.

Good professional service from the Receptionist and GP. Especially from the receptionist who had to deal with a quite rude member of the public before me!

I didnt feel the Dr gave me a chance to describe all my symptoms. I also felt that if youve had a number of e-consults you should maybe offered a face to face appointment if it is a physical problem so you can be examined

It was a yearly review of test results nice to be offered a face to face appointment and best was that I have time to discuss things and to be listen to . Definitely made me feel a lot better . 5 minutes face to face goes a long way !

Review titled Diabetic Review
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Basil S - Posted on 05 July 2023
I attended my appointment having firstly given a urine sample to the member of staff, having been told to bring one in my text message when I had arranged for an appointment The Staff member said”what do I need this for?” I replied by saying I was ask to provide a sample in my text I was told that this appointment was only 7 mins and to take bloods. The upshot of this, my urine sample was checked, bloods taken and then given another appointment to see the proper diabetic practitioner next week - thanks
