  1. Review titled Great Nurses within Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 May 2023

I recently attended the surgery and can honestly say the nurse and student nurse who saw me were fantastic. They were very sensitive to the me during the procedure, they made me feel very relaxed and talked me through what was happening. Each time I have been to see the nurses at Red Roofs I have always treated respectfully and with care. Well done to all nurses at the practice

  2. Review titled Awful

Rated 2 stars out of 5

The way I was spoken was awful, considering what I am going through, the way the lady handled it was disgusting. She spoke down to me, as if I was a nobody. I had my daughter with me at the time and the lady just kept going and going. Her attitude was awful, she didn’t show any compassion, any sympathy towards me or my situation. Appreciate the NHS are under a lot of stress right now, but kindness doesn’t cost a thing.

  3. Review titled Receptionist needs sack

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I was told off by the receptionist for asking advice from the pharmacist next door when the doctors was closed. She was so nasty and said they had absolutely nothing to do with the chemist next door. Then on the NHS web site it tells us to talk to the pharmacist this was also advised on the news. ???

  4. Review titled Awful practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 January 2023

The experience with red roofs is disgusting, try to get an appointment to have an automated message tell you the appointments are all gone. Went on line and filled in the online contact form with all the ins and outs of my personal situation to receive a text back saying that is only for future appointments at the end of the month, and to call the surgery at 8 tomorrow. After 40 mins of them being ‘open’ and 17 phone calls the line is engaged. I couldn’t even get through to the point where your added to a queue that usually takes 45 mins to get to the top of. This isn’t a one off, its been like this every time you need an appointment for the past 2 years at least. Absolutely disgusting, people will be getting seriously ill from the lack of availability and care from this surgery.

  7. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Excellent service from the minor ops team who performed a pain free, scar free procedure to remove a facial lesion. Service was seamless starting with my appointment booked via the surgery portal through to my tissue sample results via text.

  8. Review titled Rude Receptionists

Rated 1 star out of 5

Getting through to this surgery is a nightmare first of all. Once you have an appointment it’s always a telephone one, even though I needed to supply a sample? No sample requested and given antibiotics that didn’t work. Had to make another appointment, told to give a sample (surprise!) told to be there by 5pm on a Friday which I did I was there at 4:30pm (this meant I had to leave work an hour early), to be told I was too late and needed to come back on Monday. I am in a lot of pain, the receptionist treated me like dirt, tutting at me, rolling her eyes, huffing when I asked if I could use the toilet to provide a sample, not really sure what she expected me to do if I couldn’t use a toilet! Then told me actually I am too late and then began to argue with me. After she had made me wait whilst she was talking to her colleagues about her holiday, so unprofessional and embarrassing! I am upset, frustrated and in a pain, why is a receptionist arguing with me, I asked her to pass on information to the doctor as I shouldn’t have been told to come by 5pm if it wasn’t true, it’s not fair, I left work early, travelled out of my way, and had been treated like dirt by her for absolutely no reason. The woman wouldn’t listen to me or empathise, I felt as though I was a criminal for being unwell. I can’t quite believe how rude she was to me, how she is still in a professional job I will never know. Absolutely appalling.

  9. Review titled Terrible reception staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 July 2022

I tried for a week to get an appointment and was told it would be better to book a future appointment as it was not urgent I did. I waited 3 weeks and was given a time , so waited and waited no call came. I called the surgery and got through after 50 minutes, I told the receptionist and she shouted me down and said I had it wrong they don’t give a time for the appointment, I got upset , in tears and was told I cannot talk to you if you are like this and put the phone down!!!

  10. Review titled Appalling service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 July 2022

Trying to get through to Red Roofs to talk to someone is shocking!!! 45 minutes waiting time and that’s after calling over 20 times to an engaged number The service you are offering is not acceptable and it needs to change, people will put off calling and end up poorly or having to go to a&e which is not fair when GPS should be there as 1st point of call Getting reception to also decide whether you get an appointment or not is also not acceptable that’s a decision a trained professional should be making

We are sorry that you have had difficulty trying to contact us on the telephone. General practice and the NHS as a whole is under considerable pressure as we try to meet post pandemic demands with a workforce that is severely depleted and are trying to provide as much care as we can to our patients. The reception team are fully trained to triage you to the most appropriate clinician which may not be a GP, this is a necessary change to help us to try to meet increased demand and a more diverse workforce. The phone system will allow 15 people into the queue and the team will try to answer those calls as quickly as they can. A&E or 999 should only be used for emergencies which you should not be calling your GP for, as we are not an emergency response provider.
