Review titled No care for their patients
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Rosemary Tiney - Posted on 16 April 2025
I went to the surgery because I was breathless after walking a sort way I’d had a sickness virus several days before and wanted to know if it was a result of the virus or something else… the receptionist just said call back tomorrow at 8am or ring 111 and turned me away. I think if I had asked someone in a shop I would have had more response I can’t believe that a duty doctor couldn’t take a couple of minutes just to tell me whether I should worry or if it could be something else.

Review titled Doctors never seem to listen to me
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by J Tilson - Posted on 01 May 2025
I went to see a doctor to ask if I could go back onto blood pressure tablets every day, he's made me send in 8 readings which are very heigh and I still haven't got the result I wanted. All I want is to get my blood pressure out of the red!!! Is that really too much to ask??

Review titled Redroof Surgery - Great Service Provider
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by A&J Warbrick - Posted on 15 January 2025
My wife and I cut short our UK winter holiday because we were suffering with really bad flu like symptoms. On our arrival home and purely coincidentally, I had a message from Nurse to complete a medication review. In my return to her, I mentioned that I’d had to over do one of my inhalers to help with my breathing over the last week or so. Within minutes, she was on the phone and after assessing both mine and my wife’s symptoms, (despite only being early 60s we are both immune suppressed), she insisted that we see a GP and appointment was made. Usual warm welcome by Reception Staff. Consultation with GP. Thorough examination….description doesn’t even get close! Compassionate, caring and great listening skills combined with a sense of humour. GP examined, diagnosed, explained diagnosis, prescribed and advised with full explanation of why and how to medicate. We didn’t feel rushed, we didn’t get the “one finger - one illness only can be discussed” just good old fashioned care…with a smile. Good luck Doc in your new 9 month contract. You are a credit to your profession and a wonderful ambassador for everything that is right about Redroof. With much appreciation.

Review titled Never Seen A Doctor
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Angela Bowell - Posted on 22 October 2024
I don’t usually write reviews but I am not impressed with this survey I have been a patient since July I have never once been able to see a doctor I always get given an appointment with a physician assistant never heard of that title before don’t get me wrong not saying she isn’t nice but to never see a doctor but an ongoing medical problem which is leaving me in chronic pain and for me to get told to chase up my own scan results from previous surgery surely that’s there job as they more likely to get my results sent over it’s ridiculous as that’s part of there job I am just wondering if best to change surgeries

Review titled Diabolical Reception staff
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 July 2024
I was told the previous day to call at 8am to make an appointment to receive my test results. I struggle with early mornings but woke up in order to make an appointment. I was refused an appointment by the reception staff, with them citing that test results are not valid for “same day appointment” absolute waste of my time. The staff get more and more probing every time, the reception take more and more libertys. I recently made a complaint about them and received no response other than an email telling me how to book an appointment!

Dear Patient, thank you for your feedback. We have implemented a triage system in the surgery which allows us to book in advance for non urgent appointments which includes test results, this gives us the resources to see patients who need on the day care. These appointments can be booked through our Rapid Health link on our social media pages and web site, receptionists are also able to book these over the telephone. It is part of the receptionists role to enquire the reason an appointment is needed so that the appropriate clinician and time can be allocated. If you would like to discuss this further please contact me on my email: c.flude@nhs.net Kind Regards Cheryl Flude Operations Manager

Review titled Disgusting!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Rebecca kieran - Posted on 08 May 2024
Rang today for my 11 year old son who has been poorley since Sunday High temperature, drink fluids, extreme headache, sore throat, ear ache. Waited for an hour to be told we have no appointments left but can get me a telephone appointment this evening! He is classed as an emergency he is a child! How can someone diagnose him over the phone! I explained my husband is working away and I have no childcare and he really needs to be seen as the last time he had ear ache he ended up in hospital with mastoiditis after being mis diagnosed from this surgery! Absolutely appalling!

Dear Rebecca, thank you for your feedback following your call to the surgery today. I appreciate that the phone lines are busy and we have taken measures to try and help this with our online triage service for over 16's and the 'hold your place in the queue' on our telephone system. I appreciate that you would have preferred a face to face appointment for your son but due to demand all of our appointments in the surgery had been taken, this is why an on the day telephone appointment was booked with our enhanced access doctors, they have access to patients records and can carry out the consultation appropriately If you would like to discuss this further please email me on c.flude@nhs.net Kind Regards Cheryl. Review titled Very disappointed
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Olivia - Posted on 12 April 2024
My father went in for an appointment as he has ongoing issues that he’s been struggling with, was explaining everything that’s been going on and around 10 minutes into the appointment the doctor said the appointment has been to long and he can’t help any further as this appointment took too long, apparently 10 minutes is too long… just advised him to book another appointment for the issue? Doctors at red roofs really don’t care about anyone’s health and are clearly bored with their job. This gp surgery used to be so good, but they really need to step up their services. Really disappointed with how my father has been treated today

Review titled Receptionist
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Kirsty - Posted on 16 February 2024
I have been at this doctors since birth, and whilst getting an appointment is sometimes difficult the doctors and nurses there are great. However I have today had an awful experience with one of the receptionists. I was taking my 10 month old, sick daughter for her appointment and the car park there is small and the spaces are very tight. There are 2 disabled spots, but nothing for mother and baby (I understand many places don't!) therefore I had to park in one of the 2 empty spots in order to be able to get my baby out of the car without as I Physically wouldn't have been able to get her out if I parked elsewhere. I told the receptionist this on entry and she was extremely rude about it. I am not one to park in disabled spots at any time, but I had no choice. I asked her what I should have done - put my sick baby in the middle of the car park on the wet floor whilst parking but she had no answer for a solution just was extremely rude. I was in the doctors no more than 6 mins and was back out to still another empty space so on this occasion no harm done. I would urge the practice to consider this as many babies must visit for immunisations etc.
