The medication i was on was unavailable at my chosen pharmacy and not available for them to order. The prescribing team rang around and was able to arrange my prescription to be collected at another pharmacy. Without this medication I would of been very poorly. I have never had any issues with the practice and found all staff pleasent and helpful either face to face or via phone. I have been with Red Bank Practice 30+ years and never been disappointed.

Have contacted the surgery using the my Gp app 3 times in the last 4 weeks. Staff extremely helpful and answered my request within a very short time. Seen by the nurse practitioners and received excellent care and communication. No issues and very pleased with my experience. Professional and friendly when they ring or I have been seen face to face.

I had a bad ear infection in my mastoid ear around 5 months ago I was seen by my usual Nurse Practioner. She examined my ear and took a swab, treatment given and made me another appt for a weeks time. I attended, it had not cleared up. Different medication given. She checked on it again until it got better and thankfully I haven't had it again. She was so thorough and always listens to me re : my symptoms I appreciated the continuty of care.

  6. Review titled Absolutely shocking practice

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 October 2024

Called up at 7am with severe lower back pain, unable to walk, shooting pains down my legs. 8/10 pain with any movement of my right leg. Spoke to a DR who arranged a home visit. Waited all day in serious pain till 3am, when the person finally arrived, was not interested in doing any assessment of pain or possible nerve damage. The person took my temperature and blood pressure. Told me to “take paracetamol and deal with it” … So I obviously phoned the doctors back and demanded to speak to the DR again and was prescribed amitrypilin that I am greatful because I really just want to sleep pain free tonight but still I have had no assessment for possible nerve damage, numbness or anything. So I’ve tried to call again to ask to speak to the manager… The Receptionist: “what do you want to speak to the manager for?”… so I started to explain and she rudely interrupted with, “well that’s not us is it”… so I replied “very rude on the phone some of use” to that she replied, “well I’m going to end the call now because you don’t want to talk to me”… Correct i wanted to speak to the manager so why even question me then have an attitude about it? So rude and the Receptionist are Gatekeeping the complaints. I will be going to the hospital so I can be checked as long term nerve damage in the spine can cause paralysis and these people do not care.

  8. Review titled Worst GP in the area

by Alicia Garland - Posted on 26 March 2024

I dont know where to start. I've had nothing but problems with Redbank since joining in 2023. Firstly, i'd registerd and expressed how servere my mental health was and that my previous practice down south had sent over my case and medications.. It took weeks for me to get an appointment after constantly ringing and constantly being told tjey were busy and could book me in for a mobile call the following week after me explaining how low i was. I wasn't taken seriously and was then 'told off'and told that i had upset the receptionist by expressing that i was feeling suicidal at the time and the gp we passing me around. Following this, i was diagnosed in November with ADHD and Autism and the company that diagnosed me required further medical assistance from my GP in order to follow out the medication and help needed. I immediately tried to book an appointment as i needed an ECG, blood test and height and weight and blood pressure done..Again, every single time i rang, i waited for an hour on hold, to be told they'd again book me in for a call in the next few weeks after me saying i have already had a call and a call isnt going to get my case any further, i need tests doing.. still told they cant do anything about it and to request an appointment through Ask my GP. Now this service itself is awful to use and as someone with unvisible disabilities, i struggle with things like this and accessing the point is difficult anyway. I finally did it at 7.30AM and didn't get a repmy till 6.30pm that day after being told it was the quickest and easiest way. The whole practice is a joke and the staff are horrible and inconsiderate. This week i tried to call multiple days and didnt get an answer as i started with a case of constipation and then bleeding and extreme pain, which then lead onto heart pains. I also have a heart condition and bulemia and this issue caused stomach pain, heart pain, and triggered my eating disorder again as i am scared to eat due to not being able to pass. As a considerate person, i didn't ring the GP initially in the first few days as i thought it would pass and be normal constipation, therefore got my own remmedies and did my own research and tried to help myself to save the GP's time for more important things.. then when after a few days i started bleeding and only passing a tissue like membrane, and being in 10/10 pain all day, i panicked and called the GP, waited for 30 mins to be tokd to ring 111. Guess what, i rang 111 and was on the phone for 45 minutes for them to refer me back to the gp and told to ring them within 10 mins so i did. For them to tell me they'd ring me later that day, and they didnt. They rang me the next day and that was their excuse for me not having an appointment. I was on the phone from 7.40am till 9.56am and still didnt get through. To walk to the practice in pain. The attitude and lack of concern or care was disgusting and they show no support for mental health or urgent matters unless you're elderly.

If I could give a minus 1000 I would. Never ever able to get an appointment! I have had blood tests and have been sent a text to be told I need to be seen! had issues for months literally can not get an appointment even though they have said I need to be seen, askmyGP never online at 7am!!!! Yes I am online at 7am!! when you call you are on hold for a very long time!! sometimes ringing for up to an hour at time and when you do get through you speak to rude staff who basically tell me to try again at 7am!! an absolutely appalling service!

Your comments have been noted with regard to arranging an appointment/accessing askmyGP. The AskmyGP is automatically switched on at 7am, unless there is a problem which is out of our control which has occasionally happened. Our practice is the only practice which opens askmyGP at 7am to allow patients to log on before the telephones are switched on at 8am. Once it reached capacity, it is closed, dependent upon the number of GPs and Nurse Practitioners who are in each day. We do appreciate that patients have to contact the practice, following this and our telephone line remains open. We do receive a significant number of calls daily and this can impact upon access and our staff do have to ask patients to call back. This is the way our practice operates. Unfortunately, we do have a telephone system with limited incoming/outgoing lines, shared with other care services within our building. We are in the process of installing a new icloud based telephone system which will enable call backs, recording and will let you know where you are in the queue.
