I don’t go to the doctor much at all but when ve wanted to I have not had a problem getting an appointment I’ve been listened to, given time and offered practical relèvent info and follow up

The receptionist has been incredibly rude. They have a terrible system in place for booking appointments. First, I have had my appointments cancelled many times last minute. Second, I have been told to do an e-consult, once I do that, about a week later they say they'll have a doctor call me. They call me at random times without letting me know when to expect the call, so I have missed the call as I haven't been prepared for it (either at work, putting my baby to sleep as they call at 7:30pm at night!) and then they tell me that it's my fault I missed the call and that I have to start all over. This wastes the doctors time, my time, receptionists time as I keep having to call them to ask them to call me back. It's such a waste of everyones precious time and there should be a much better system in place. They can't expect people to just wait by their phones for the doctor to call at any time and then if they miss it there's no way to call back.

Dear Patient, Thank you for leaving us this detailed review. We use these reviews to evaluate our service and make changes, so it is helpful to have a balance in the responses. Firstly, we would like to apologise for the delay in our reply. We understand our patients live very busy lives, like you’ve outlined, so we try to accommodate this as best as possible. It is not our goal to waste anyone’s time and we are sorry that this has been your experience. Just to clarify our book system in the hopes it may help you or others reading this, there are several ways you can book. The best way is through our e-consults (which you have tried). These are open from 6.30am to 10.30am Monday to Friday and will be responded to within 48 hours. We are slightly concerned and confused as to why yours took one week as this is not how our practice operates. You will then be contacted to discern whether you want a face-to-face appointment or a phone call. Our system should text to inform you if you have an am or pm telephone consultation from the doctor, if this has not been the case it would be helpful for us to check your contact details on our records. You can also book via the phone or coming into our surgery. In addition, if you require an evening appointment you can call the surgery at 6.30pm Monday to Friday or anytime at the weekend between 8am and 5pm. Additionally, we are so sorry that you have experienced last minute cancellations, sometimes issues arise outside of our control, but we do try our best to ensure this causes as little disturbance to the service our patients receive. We apologise that we weren’t able to stop this for you. However, there is no excuse for rudeness and our surgery takes these allegations very seriously, thankfully this is very rare. If you would like to email us at islingtoncentralmc@nhs.net we can look into all of this in more detail, review calls and check notes about appointments to ensure you are happy and highlight the areas we may need to improve. The receptionist, who I have seen many times before, booked me in and was so supportive and helpful. When I came the next day the doctor was lovely and made me feel so much better. The previous doctor I saw last year about blood pressure was also fantastic and really calmed me down. I really don't like going to the doctors and get very anxious, but this place has been fantastic.

I mistakenly posted this as 1 star so am writing it again! I went in the morning about a lump on my neck, I have a great fear of going to the doctors at the best of times, but the receptionist was very helpful and she made me much more relaxed. When I saw the doctor later that day she was fantastic and dealt with me in a positive way that removed my fears and left me a lot happier. I have had nothing but positive experiences with this practice and would recommend it highly.

I asked one of the longstanding receptionists for an appointment to look at a spot on my leg that was not healing. She took time and searched through many possibilities and managed to find me an appointment with the GP with relevant expertise. When I saw the doctor she noticed another spot and referred me straightaway to hospital. I had two surgeries at the hospital and the practice nurse dressed the wounds and a doctor followed up with a phone call to see how I was coping. I am greatly appreciative of the care I have received.

I had a sensitive problem.Over three months it was dealt with sympathetically quickly and efficiently by the doctors and staff- by one personal consultation and two consultations by telephone efficiently set up and carried into affect – all sorted. I am most grateful.

it was nice to see my concerns listened to as my previous GP i left because they kept ignoring my symptoms. changed to this Practise and immediately got my issue resolved. I am happy with the care that I have received. thank you to the amazing receptionists they handle themselves with professional even when patient are being aggressive they manage to diffuse the situation.

I have been with this practice for a number of years and have always had great care and attention. A couple of years ago I went to the practice because of acid reflux. The doctor I saw listened and sent me to have my stomach checked at the Hospital. They found out I had Kidney cancer. This would never had been found if they had not sent me. You can always rely on whichever Doctor you see, listen to you, and make you feel very relaxed and most of all give you time to explain your problem. I Have always felt that they care about you. They are friendly and responsive from the receptionists on the phone or at the practice behind the counter. I for one would never think about leaving this practice and I would highly recommend the practice to other people. Thank you to everybody who works there. I called the surgery in the morning and was given a callback by the on call GP later the same day. He answered my questions and gave me a F2F appointment the next working day. After seeing him I came away with clear information about my concerns and a timely referral to a dermatologist. A good experience and patient friendly manner. Thank you.

I have been trying to get my son vaccinations for going to India since September. He is 16. At first I rang and they said they had to speak to him so I had to wait until he was free. Then when he phoned they said they couldn't book him an appointment as we would speak to a nurse first. The only date they had was about 3 weeks in advance. Today between 10 and 11am. The nurse hasn't called. It is half term, I work in schools so that is why I could take the call as I am on half term holiday. Now I have waited nearly one hour to speak to reception. The queue started at 15 people - its now only at number 10 after one hour- that means on average I have another two hours to wait. What am I meant to do? Its going to be too late to get the vaccinations soon There is no-one to contact. What an awful service.
