  1. Review titled Long waits

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 January 2025

Waiting weeks for appointments Trying to get an appointment with a GP is non existent (maybe a telephone call) palmed off to other medical professionals. Time waiting in the triage - then gp reviews appts - then passes to pharmacist- then the pharmacist asks for sample. (Why didn’t the gp just ask for the sample at initial review - wasting time waiting) Reception staff are the same with wasting time instead of logic. I told them the doc told me on the telephone to get an appt with a nurse, but they did want to book it in until another receptionist team reviewed the appointment request. I highlighted why would I need them to ok an appt when a ‘Doctor’ has told me to get to booked. Suddenly logic kicked in and appt was made without the other reception teams oversight. The one nurse I have seen in person was lovely and kind. Surgery looks extremely worn down and not very inviting.

  2. Review titled A very caring doctor

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 January 2025

I always find the doctor is very thorough although I haven’t seen her face to face but she always spend time with me on the phone. I find the new app is so much better and easier to use so I don’t have to self diagnose myself each time and the practice got back to me within the day for an appointment over the phone.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Stephen Bryant - Posted on 29 January 2025

When collecting a prescription from Boots Chemist I was asked if the pharmacist could check my blood pressure. On checking he found it high and asked me to record my readings for a week then hand in to Health Centre. I asked receptionist if I could have a Doctor’s phone call. I’ve had the call from a Doctor and advised to have a health check. I’ve booked the check for 1045 07.02.25

  4. Review titled Good surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Edgar Barnes - Posted on 05 February 2025

I submitted an online e consult and a reply was received the next day. It was to say that the e consult had been reviewed by a doctor and that I would receive a telephone call on the 29th of January.y named Doctor called me on that day and asked me if I could attend the surgery right away. I was able to and I was examined after waiting for only a short time. The Doctor decided that he would request a referral ASAP. I was well pleased with with the excellent service.

  5. Review titled amazing practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2025

Put in an online consultation which was extremely easy to use and simplified (old econsult system was tedious) and was sent a text message the same day giving me an initial date for a telephone triage. spoke to the physio on the indicated date who discussed my symptoms and booked me in for a face-to-face appointment when it was convenient. Plympton Health Centre is a friendly surgery with amazing staff who directed me to the correct area. Saw the physio, felt extremely comfortable in the consultation and was given clear advice as to what the next steps are. 11/10 would reccomend

  6. Review titled Unclear

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 February 2025

I received a phone call I took as carer for a patient. I was told he was to have a phone appointment with the pharmacy team. The person I spoke to did not specify the reason even I asked her about it. I told her the specialist consultant the patient is seeing told us he would call the GP in this matter. She made a noise that sort of sounded as if she knew about it but remained unclear and refused to engage into a conversation with me about. She wasn’t very friendly either. I was not happy about this conversation.

  7. Review titled hard work

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2025

i, as i have previously done in the past contacted the surgery with a request to speak to a doctor just before new year. i did this via a econsult. i specifically requested for a call from a doctor not a text or email a few hours after doing this i received a text saying that i would be contacted on the morning of 13th January which is over 2 weeks from the time i did the econult. ok so over 2 weeks to even speak to someone - which seems to have become the norm since covid. I have no choice , like the rest of plympton to just accept this and wait patiently. the week before i was due the call I called and spoke to a receptionist who told me i would definitely be getting a call on the morning of the 13th. so, when the 13th arrived - since there is no specific time given as to when the doctor would call ie no timed appointment- again like we did before covid. i walked around with my phone glued to my side. i took it everywhere with me , to the toilet , outside , in the shower ! i also could not drive anywhere as i do not have hands free in my car. sonbasically my hole day was dedicated to getting this call. the afternoon came and it got to about 2:30 so i thought i would call to see what was going on. when i got through i was caller number 20 ! i stayed on the line till i got to caller number 2 and lone behold the call cut off! i then decided to call again and i was now caller number 10. i eventually got through and spoke to a lady who told me that the doctors do not guarantee a call and i could receive a email or text , i told her that i spoke to someone the week prior and he told me that i would definitely get a call in the morning. she then told me that the doctor had emailed me at 11:48 and she could see that i was told that i was told by the receptionist that i would receive a call and she did not know why i received a email. so after giving you all of that information, let me tell you how it makes you feel, after waiting over 2 weeks to speak someone about a horrible problem that effects your life. you become so desperate to speak to a doctor and you count down the days until they are supposed to call and offer sympathy/support. you take your phone everywhere willing it to ring just so you can get what’s bothering off your chest and then you are told that the doctor has sent you a email !! It’s absolutely crazy. I have no idea what is going through the minds of the people who are in charge in this surgery. there was once a time when the doctors and staff worked for the patients , now it feels like the the doctors and staff just work for their own convenience. you could fix so many problems in your surgery , if you just bite the bullet and bring back face to face appointments with a fixed time. private surgery’s can do it , dentists can do it. why can’t you?? i am certainly not the only one who feels this way. please bring back proper face to face appointments. as soon as you do i can guarantee it would solve a lot of your issues !
