    Had a telephone conversation with my GP this morning and would like to say how I found him to be helpful, professional and easy to talk to. Very lucky to have such a good surgery in such stressful times with so much pressure on the service.

    I have been with Ambrose Avenue Group Practice for over 5 years and in that time Ambrose has never ever failed to to provide an excellent service. We have to accept that at times it can seem a long wait for an answer to ones phone call but that has to be expected in these difficult times. Once my call is answered my request/Problem is resolved with speed, efficiency and empathy. In summary: An excellent efficient service from both the front line staff at Ambrose and the Doctors. one last point : This morning I called at 1158hrs to book an appointment and was given a date immediately then at 1208hrs I received a txt confirming my appointment. Thank you very much.

  3. Review titled Not a good service at all - who is in charge?

    The receptionist decides who sees a doctor and who doesn't. Default seems to be to send as many as possible to the Tollgate "wait in a queue" at 8 am, where you could be waiting for up to a couple of hours to see a doctor. How can the elderly and infirm put up with this? This reflects very badly on this practice. It used to be run much better than this. A great shame on the community. It's akin to something like a barber shop than a GP Practice I'm afraid.

    This doctors surgery in my eyes is simply the best I absolutely love this surgery the staff are very friendly and kind always goes out of their way to help you I’m so very happy I’ve found them before I moved to this surgery I was going through a lot with my menopause and I felt like I was not being listened to until the day I moved to this surgery I called them and told them that I was in my menopause and they helped me so much I got to speak to a menopause specialist and for the very first time I felt like I was being listened to I told the doctor what I was going through with the menopause and the menopause Dr knew what I needed and put me Straight on the HRT from that day my life changed for the better I cannot thank the menopause Dr enough simply the best in my eyes an angel I’m back doing the things I loved doing the symptoms I was having are much more better and this is all thanks to the menopause Dr at this surgery I would most definitely recommend this surgery to everyone and for the lady’s like me who are going through the menopause please go to this surgery they do have fantastic wonderful menopause Drs it’s thanks to them I’m back living my life again they do listen and help so much they are an angel they all are an Angels .

    My experience is yes it can be a long wait to get through on phone and a long wait but I know the reception can only give you an appointment if available and overall I’m very happy and each GP is superb

    Phoned at 8am and waited 2hours 17 minutes for an answer. Only to be told no appointments available at all and to either attend as an emergency walk-in or go to a&e. Receptionist was rude and unhelpful and hung up!

    Apart from having to queue outside in the cold, once inside the staff were very efficient in marshalling everyone. I saw a new GP who was brilliant, he took time to listen to my woes then arranged scans and medications and explained everything clearly to me. I know times are very difficult for the surgery at the moment but I received top class service, it just took a little patience. Thank You

    Waited over 45 minutes for telephone to be answered. Required appointment to see doctor told no appointments available for at least 2 weeks unless I queued out side tollgate surgery from 8 am. Why not say there are no appointments before I had to wait 45 minutes?
