What to do if your name, date of birth or NHS number are incorrect in the NHS App

If these details are incorrect or out of date, contact your GP surgery and ask them to update your details. They will then update your NHS record. Any changes made there will appear in the NHS App.

Using someone else's phone to access the NHS App

You can use someone else's phone or tablet to set up your NHS login. But you'll need access to the phone number you provide, as we send a security code to it every time you log in to the NHS App.

Deleting your account

You might have used your NHS login to access one or more websites or apps other than the NHS App.

Important

After you have deleted your NHS login:

  • you will not be able to access those websites or apps using your NHS login (you might have to set up a new login if you want to access them)
  • they might keep some information about you

You can delete your account using the NHS App:

  1. Log in to the NHS App.
  2. Go to Settings (the cog icon).
  3. Select NHS login.
  4. Select Delete your NHS login.

Alternatively, you can delete your NHS login online.

Managing notifications

You can choose whether to allow notifications from the NHS App on your device. Notifications may include information about new features and important health information updates, such as coronavirus updates.

To make your choice:

  1. Log in to the NHS App.
  2. Go to Settings (the cog icon).
  3. Select Notifications.
  4. Turn on or off the Allow notifications toggle.

The toggle is green when notifications are on. You can turn notifications on or off at any time.

If you use the NHS App on multiple devices, you will need to allow notifications on each device.
