Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility while using heparinoid - Brand: Hirudoid

Heparinoid and pregnancy

You can use heparinoid while you're pregnant. However, always check with your doctor or a pharmacist first.

Heparinoid and breastfeeding

It's OK to use heparinoid while you're breastfeeding. It is very unlikely that any will get into your breast milk.

When using the cream or gel, be careful that your baby does not come into contact with the areas of your body you have put it on. Wash your hands after you have applied it and before holding your baby.

If your baby is not feeding as well as usual, or if you have any other concerns about your baby, talk to your doctor, pharmacist, health visitor or midwife.

Heparinoid and fertility

There is no evidence to suggest that heparinoid affects fertility in either men or women.

Non-urgent advice: Tell your doctor if you're:

  • trying to get pregnant
  • pregnant
  • breastfeeding
