About heparinoid - Brand name: Hirudoid

Heparinoid is a medicine that helps to prevent small blood clots from forming and reduces the swelling of the veins just under your skin.

Heparinoid is used to treat:

  • bruises
  • internal bruising (haematoma)
  • inflamed veins near the surface of the skin caused by small blood clots – superficial thrombophlebitis

It comes as a cream or gel. The gel has an added cooling effect.

Heparinoid is available on prescription and to buy from pharmacies and shops.
