Transcript of NHS Strength and flexibility: thigh stretch

If you need to, place your hand on a tree or bench for balance.

Stand tall and grab your left foot with your left hand

and hold the position for five slow breaths.

Keep your knees together and keep a very slight bend in your standing leg.

Keep the weight on the foot of the standing leg evenly spread.

Avoid leaning forwards or to the side.

For an easier version, sit on a bench and turn to your left,

so that you're sitting sideways.

Sitting upright, drop the right knee towards the ground

without making contact.

Feel the stretch by pushing your outer hip forward.

Then turn to your right and repeat the stretch

by dropping your left knee.
