Malt wheat cereal with juicy mandarin segments – a quick and simple breakfast that allows your baby to practice feeding themselves. When choosing your breakfast cereal, look for the variety with the lowest sugar.

Ingredients

  • 20g malt wheat cereal
  • 100ml full fat milk
  • 25g tinned mandarin segments (in juice, drained)

Try serving with blueberries, mixed berries or quartered grapes to encourage your baby to practice their pincer grip.

Method

  1. Put the malt wheat cereal in a bowl, add the milk, allow to soften.
  2. Drain the mandarin segments.
  3. Serve the cereal with a spoon, and the mandarin on the side to encourage self-feeding.
From 10-12 months, your child should be having 3 meals a day.
