Cinnamon and banana toast recipe

This quick and tasty cinnamon toast is a great finger food breakfast for your baby to practice self-feeding while trying new flavours.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium slice wholemeal bread (30g)
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil spread (4g)
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon
  • ½ small banana, peeled and mashed

Method

  1. Toast the bread in the toaster until golden brown. Meanwhile peel and slice the banana

  2. Spread the vegetable spread evenly over the toasted bread.

  3. Cut the bread into easy-to-eat finger slices and place the sliced banana on top of the toast fingers (or on the side if preferred).

  4. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon over the top.

  5. Information:

    Try offering the cinnamon toast with some warm stewed apple on colder days.

Weaning tip

From 12 months, your child should be having 3 meals a day. They may also need 2 healthy snacks in between.
