Apple and blueberry stew

First tastes don't have to be hard work! These warm stewed apples are easy to whip up and a great introduction to fruit for your baby.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium apple, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 60g frozen blueberries
  • 150ml water

Method

  1. Put the chopped apple and blueberries into a saucepan, add 150ml water.

  2. Cook for around 10 minutes until the apple and blueberry are completely soft. If it sticks to the pan, add a little more water.

  3. Pour the mixture into a bowl and stir.

  4. Cool down and then serve.

  5. Information:

    Add the purée to cereal or porridge for a fruity breakfast dish.

Weaning tip

Try mashed and finger foods as soon as your baby is ready, to help them learn to chew and swallow solid foods.
