  1. Review titled Very rude and dismissive

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was advised by 111 and a paramedic to go to this pharmacy to get antibiotics for tonsillitis (which pharmacist can now prescribe). The pharmacist was immediately rude and dismissed me saying he couldn’t just hand out antibiotics. He reluctantly took me into the assessment room and asked me to open my mouth, from which he didn’t even get off his chair or look in my throat properly. He told me he couldn’t give me antibiotics and advised me to try ibuprofen instead. At this point I was incredible upset and walked out. I was later that day prescribed antibiotics by a very kind pharmacist at another Tesco so his practice was clearly wrong and caused me unnecessary upset and time searching for another pharmacy. Please please please do not go here if you are in need of any kind of medical help!

  2. Review titled Rude, offhand, dismissive staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

Tesco pharmacy , Chesterfield. I queued for 10 minutes behind a person who was also waiting whist pharmacy staff behind the counter were laughing and joking and being very loud. I was then, very rudely, told I was queuing at the wrong side of the counter. Was ignored when I said I couldn't see a sign for queuing. Was told they hadn't got my medication (as was the person before me); no recommendation to come back another day or an alternative. Whilst I appreciate medicines may be more difficult to stock these days, that isn't why I'm leaving a bad review. I found the staff in that branch particularly rude, unhelpful and basically couldn't be bothered. I will never go back and will not recommend. NB - this is the 1st review I have ever felt strongly enough to leave for anyone

  3. Review titled Unhelpful, rude, unprofessional.

Wouldn’t process my prescription because they said they couldn’t get through to the clinic that provided it. I emailed my clinic who said that they could call the pharmacy at Tesco said they wouldn’t take they phone call because they couldn’t confirm it was really the clinician on the other end of the line. So have basically been refused medication that I need and have a perfectly valid prescription for, at the same time being accused of trying to obtain medication illegally. So unprofessional.

  4. Review titled Disorganised

When I got there, there was a long queue which I joined. When I got to the front, the person serving decided to serve other people because she deemed me as a child (I am 21). When I eventually got served, I told them my name and they went to find the prescription for me. My dr had prescribed 28 days of medication but they told me it was only for 14 days and they couldn’t find my other prescription. They told me it took 2 working days but couldn’t explain why they hadn’t got it despite me waiting 4 working days before collecting. They then couldn’t offer any more help or answer any of my questions except to tell me that I need to book a gp appointment to get my prescription. Would not recommend at all.

  5. Review titled Zombies with no customer service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Visited a couple of times and have always given up waiting. (There is no cue, the staff just ignore your there). Went in today pregnant and feeling unwell, wanted to buy covid test. Waited 20 minutes, there were 3 staff and none acknowledged myself and 2 others waiting. When others were served the staff move incredibly slow and are so quiet you cannot hear their questions. They rarely have the prescriptions available that people are visiting to collect or they spend so long looking in various trays, I would be quicker for customers to find their own package by climbing over the counter. The service is appalling and I collect my prescriptions from another shop the other side of town( I live next to this tesco) because i do not trust tesco pharmacy.

They refused to sell me tablets for a migraine, told me to go see my gp. GPS are struggling and so we are told to not waste there time, yet tescos pharmacy won't sell simple headache tablets.

  7. Review titled Unknowledgeable, Unhelpful

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been to this pharmacy twice as a last resort. Both times, the staff have been absolutely clueless. They have 0 social skills and default to just the most expensive medicine which they don't even know basic things about when asked. If I wanted to read label and make wild guesses about my health, I could do that on my own. They seriously need a change in staff. Borderline dangerous.

  8. Review titled Great service

My husband has his medication from Tesco pharmacy. They are very helpful. They have phoned him several times to check how he is managing, and checking for side effects. Even when today he rang them 4 times as his doctors surgery had not sent his prescription they were very calm and made him feel like it wasn't any trouble Thank you Tesco oharmacy

  9. Review titled Polite, sympathetic, helpful.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

The NHS may be creaking under the weight of our demands and prescriptions take longer to be processed than they used to wherever you take them but I always find the Tesco pharmacy staff to be helpful, polite and sympathetic despite their workload. Thank you for your help.

  10. Review titled Great diagnosis on poorly nail

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ruth - Posted on 03 December 2023

I was sent to the pharmacy after visiting the hospital. An X-ray had been clear so I was sent to get medication for an infection. The pharmacist picked up immediately that the nail wasn’t infected because of the time factor/ symptoms. This saved me a lot of money and prompted the doctor to test it, showing the pharmacist was correct. Great service and advice.
