Review titled Very responsive and helpful
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Daniel Errington - Posted on 04 March 2025
The staff were a lifesaver recently, were very friendly, and went out of their way to help get my medications last minute and without much notice. Despite it being very busy they were able to make time and help me out. Would recommend it for regular use if its close,

Excellent service! The staff is always friendly, professional, and efficient. I truly appreciate their hard work and dedication to providing quick and hassle-free service.Huge thanks to the amazing team at ponteland pharmacy. We arrived just before closing with a last-minute prescription, and the pharmacist went above and beyond, staying an extra 10 minutes to ensure we got what we needed. Their dedication and kindness truly made a difference. So grateful for their hard work.highly recommend this pharmacy.

Review titled Useless

I visited the pharmacy to check my son's sore throat with temperature upon at 11 am. I went there travelling far only I was told by general practice that he will be attended immediately. When I went there the person standing there was rude and informed that pharmacist was busy and unable to attend until after 4 pm. I said that I couldn't come after 4 pm with sick child. When I said I travelled all the way with sick child, they just she can't do anything as it's busy. As I couldn't wait till that long I had to go to walk in centre, waited for more than 3 hours and left without seeing the doctor. I said I was there as advised not to call rather attend there so pharmacist will check. Such a useless service. The service is below standard that they do not even care. When I said general practice advised me, they said GP wouldn't know. If that is the case why would signpost to pharmacy. They could have said that with little wait, he will be seen. At the beginning of the year 2024, in the same pharmacy my daughter was treated with antibiotics (high dose) which caused her severe rashes. I didn't complain thinking it is the reaction of medication. The doses should be checked properly before given. That pharmacy is run by incompetent people with zero service standards.

I attended to have my flu and COVID jab and found staff very helpful and very friendly. I did not have to wait long to be seen. Whilst there I had a look at what they stock and will be going back to stock up on various items.

Just been in to this pharmacy. Walked in and stood at the vounter waiting my turn as there was 2 people in front of me. Several other people came in so the staff decided to stack the shelves and then stood up and started serving the people in the queue, completely ignoring me. This went on for 10 minutes before I left in disappointment, as all I wanted was covid tests as my partner is ill and asked for them. I've heard stories about this pharmacy and didn't believe them til now. I will not be returning.......

Review titled Unprofessional and Poorly Managed Pharmacy
Rated 1 star out of 5

This pharmacy is an absolute disaster in every aspect. Trying to contact them via phone is nearly impossible—the line either seems disconnected, or they simply ignore calls. It appears as though customer service is a low priority for them, which is extremely frustrating when trying to get important medical advice or prescription information. The store itself is cluttered and chaotic, feeling more like a disorganized corner shop than a professional chemist. The space is cramped and uncomfortable, with no breathing room due to the sheer amount of random, non-essential items crammed onto overcrowded shelves. It’s difficult to move around, and rather than focusing on providing a clean and welcoming environment for healthcare needs, they seem more interested in selling as much unnecessary stock as possible. Hygiene is another serious concern. The fish tank inside the store is a perfect example of their neglect—it is unsanitary, continually dirty, and covered in algae. This level of carelessness in maintaining even a simple fixture is extremely disappointing, and it raises concerns about the overall cleanliness of the pharmacy itself. Such conditions will be reported to the appropriate authorities, as this is unacceptable for a place dealing with health and medical supplies. The COVID vaccination service offered by this pharmacy was nothing short of a circus. It was completely unorganized, with appointment-based services running an hour behind schedule at times. Meanwhile, the drop-in service, which was meant to be secondary, seemed to be running more smoothly than the actual scheduled appointments. This kind of disorganization is not only frustrating but also potentially dangerous when handling public health measures. It’s a shame because this pharmacy could have been a valuable resource for the community. At one point, it may have been a good establishment, but now, between the unprofessional staff, the poor management, the lack of hygiene, and the complete disregard for organization, it is no longer a place I would recommend to anyone. Avoid at all costs if you value your time, your health, and basic respect as a customer.

Review titled Very disappointed

With the Nhs under such extreme pressure and it being near impossible to get a Gp appointment on the Nhs or to even access the 111 service - I decided to use my works private health insurance with Vitality to access a Gp for my 6 year old son who was having breathing difficulties with his Asthma. They prescribed a common brown inhaler. However after taking my e-prescription to this pharmacy - from the largest health insurance provider in the United Kingdom - I was told by the staff that they wouldn’t accept my prescription as it was ‘too much effort to print it out to fulfill it.” How absolutely pathetic is that! This is a legal prescription, given for breathing issues to a 6 year old boy - and they were “too busy to print it out”! It’s an e-prescription! It doesn’t need to be printed out.

Speedy and efficient covid vaccination service. I didn't have to wait very long and it was good to be sitting inside. A few years ago I'd had to queue in the snow outside another pharmacy, so this was much better.
