Review titled Unbelievably caring
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 December 2023
The anaesthetists that cared for me were so very caring treating me with dignity and compassion it brought tears to my eyes, especially as I had an awful experience at a different hospital some years ago. I did ask their names when I came round but I’m sorry it didn’t stick in my head. These ladies were outstanding and you could not be in better care than there’s. They made such a difference to my experience and I am truly grateful to them. Thank you.

Review titled Terrible all around
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Christopher Bullock - Posted on 11 December 2023
Visited a&e in a lot of pain after being referred from barking walk in clinic, they was worried about dvt and clots in the leg which I passed onto reception when booking in, all good on arrival and was told the wait time was about 4 hours , 4 hours later I’m told I still have a minimum of 2 hours more to wait despite the waiting room having half the amount of people compared to when I arrived, when I went to ask the person on reception how much longer he was more interested in pulling his blind down then actually helping, I tried to inform him I was going home but he wasn’t interested at all , and I’m sure he did not pass that info on as around 2am I had a missed call from an anonymous number which I can only assume was the hospital asking where I was, this hospital needs a good sorting out as the care and service is beyond atrocious

Review titled Great ITU staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5

The staff in ITU looked after a family member 100 % friendly and kept us updated Amazing job and nothing to much trouble. Couple of nurses a bit slap dash but sister pulled them up and told them.

Review titled Mini stroke care
by Roskk45 - Posted on 23 January 2024
I was brought to Queens by the LAS in December. It was the first time I had been to hospital for anything important regarding my health. To say I was impressed by absolutely everything is an understatement. I can't thank all the staff enough including those I never met as I found the whole experience way above & beyond. Exceptional care by all those involved, good choice of food. Doctors who explained all, in fact after all the bad publicity the NHS gets, I was amazed. If I were giving a score out of 10 it would be 100. Please pass on my immense appreciation for the care & attention I received. Another thing that impressed me was how well all the different nationalities got on seemingly working well together. It really restored my faith in the NHS & humanity.

Review titled Wonderful care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nicola S - Posted on 07 December 2023
I had my second child at Queens in November via planned caesarean section. Every member of staff we dealt with was caring, considerate and communicative. Everything ran on time, I felt we were in safe hands, myself and baby were top priority and I couldn’t have asked for more. My needs and opinions were considered and felt valued. The service was wonderful. The only criticism is that it is clear the hospital is so underfunded. The midwives, MCAs and doctors were providing the best possible service they could given the fact that they are hugely understaffed and overly populated. I cannot thank the staff enough for ensuring the safe delivery of my baby. They are exceptional.

Review titled Terrible Hygiene Practices, Poor Service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 November 2023
I was shocked and horrified at the lack of hygiene and good medical practices by several of the nursing staff, on my 2 recent visits (30 Oct & 5-6 Nov). Not only were staff conducting blood tests without washing hands or wearing gloves, but at one point a nurse tried to give me a blood test and had laid out the equipment on a surface with somebody else's dried blood on it. I had to point this out and ask for new/clean testing equipment to be used. They cleaned it very haphazardly, and made it seem like I was inconveniencing them. This is absolutely unacceptable standards of care. The extreme lack of cleanliness and hygiene was horrifying. Not only this, but there were staff members who were sick (coughing, sneezing etc) and not wearing masks. There was one nurse who was wearing one, but repeatedly lowered it to cough, which nullified the entire point of wearing one. Overall it was a disgusting experience, and I'm only hoping and praying that I wasn't given a disease or infection from these poor cleanliness standards, and lack of basic hygiene.

Review titled Effective treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 November 2023
Initial assessment was within 2hrs. Ongoing care was effective, although waiting time was compounded moving from one area to another and waiting area/ chairs were uncomfortable for those who were unwell. Staff were helpful and informative about condition. Diagnosis and treatment carried out professionally and efficiently..... once commenced. Discharge smooth - medication provided and advised on follow up.
