    Waited at a and e for 7 and half hours when that was over we were told its now 9 and half hours thats a joke

    We are sorry to hear that you recently experienced a very long wait at our A&E department. We aim to see patients as quickly as possible and prioritise based on urgency, however at very busy times this can mean that some patients have a long wait, which we are sorry about.     Been to see my consultant today 3rd April and not very happy has my wound has opened up and been like this for 3 weeks.i had a infection 3 weeks back and my skin was tight on the foot it’s opened the wound .it’s sore painful but been like that for 2 months.i have been off work for 11 weeks and my consultant wanted to put a cast on but I am back at work all so under plastic surgery too and saw the surgeon last week and has told me if not getting any better in a few months then contact them.i have had 2 operations on this toe and both have gone the same way .not happy at all.

    Just spoke to a gentleman to order new cpap equipment. He was most helpful with arranging that and indeed arranging for a review of my condition. Much appreciated. This department has been excellent every time I have needed them.

    I had a bypass in November 2021 at Doncaster. Since moved to Sheffield. Doncaster were amazing and i cannot fault them one bit. Absolute hero's the lot of them. However the same cannot be said for Sheffield. I have never been spoken to the way i have today. I have been calling for 3 and a half weeks to speak to someone as im in a lot of pain, bloating, constant upset stomach and pain that feels like i have been winded that lasts all day that is crippling to the point that i am scrunched in a ball on the floor, sobbing gasping for air. I have not had one call back despite leaving numerous messages on their dedicated phone number, no reply to emails and the lines are never picked up. I had the misfortune of getting through to a person today who spoke to me like utter rubbish. I explained that i had been referred by the GP given the move and she said i hadn't and get back on to the GP. So for the last 3 and a half weeks why did no one else tell me this. I explained i think the problem may be my gallbladder and she was so rude. Clearly she has no clue that those that have weight loss surgery are prone to having issues with their gall bladder. She continued to speak over me, rude, ignorant and arrogant and just put the phone down on me. Is this how you treat patients. Thank god i didn't have my surgery at your hospital! Rude people, department who you simply cannot get hold of. Useless service. I wouldn't speak to anyone the way you spoke to me today. Shame on you.

    I was transferred to NGH from Rotherham Hospital yesterday following a surprise heart attack last week. At every stage the staff were friendly and considerate, everything was explained, and I was invited to ask questions throughout the whole angiogram and angioplasty procedure. I was understandably anxious about this, but the team were so nice, skilful and caring that I quickly overcame my anxieties. It was fascinating to watch the op on the x-ray screen, and great to be able to interact with everyone concerned- they made me feel I was almost part of the team, rather than someone to talk over while they worked. Staff in the preparation/recovery suite were every bit as thorough, friendly, competent and caring. Even the ambulancemen who carried out my transfers were friendly, respectful and highly competent. If my heart should need further attention, this is the team I would choose to give it. Ten out of ten, five star review, gold award.... they are worthy of them all! Thank you so, so much!

    Today the hospital was in lockdiwn due to aserious incident. We could not access the entrance. Both my husband and I in separate instances were helped by members of staff to navigate another way into the hospital to see our terminally ill relative. Both went out of their way to help. A big thsnkyou.

    I showed up early to my appointment and was seen almost immediately. The physiotherapist I saw for my ACL injury was welcoming and warm. Throughout the appointment he asked a variety of questions and was very open and engaged. Before and during each test on my knee the physio explained why he was doing each experiment and what he was looking for giving me the right amount of information and having a chance to ask questions of my own. Could not have had a better interaction with a health care practitioner understanding both me and my condition. Many thanks to this hospital and the workers.

    I had a heart attack, noon 27th March at home in Chesterfield. Taken to cri then blue lighted to northern general. Immediately treated by the surgeon and his staff who I guess saved my life. Stent fitted, transferred to ward where all the staff, nurses etc were exceptional. No one could have asked for better care. A huge thank you

    It’s been 5 weeks since my toe surgery and the wound is not heeling well so my consultant placed my foot in to a cast on Tuesday 14th February because the orthopaedic shoe I was given has been rubbing on my toe making it sore swollen.i went back on the 17th February and had another cast on to have it taken off again due to the cast rubbing my toe so the plaster nurse put padding all round my toe and put the cast over it I am still having a lot of pain in the toe plus had some my histology reports which plastic surgery may be involved if it does not heel well.i am still on strong pain relief and have pain in my left leg.the nurses in the plaster room are really nice and put you at ease because I have never had a cast on before and if any problems you can phone and go straight up.
