Review titled Not fit for purpose
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ryan Sawdon - Posted on 23 April 2025
Shocking Experience at WMC – A Symptom of a System in Crisis I had an appointment at WMC recently and unfortunately, it was one of the most disorganised and disheartening experiences I’ve had with the NHS to date. First, I waited over five weeks for the initial appointment, only to be told it had been cancelled on the day, with no notification. When I finally got seen, the GP seemed completely overwhelmed — I don’t blame them personally, but they barely had time to glance at my notes before rushing through the consultation. I was cut off mid-sentence multiple times, and left with more questions than answers. The reception staff also came across as indifferent and at times unhelpful. When I asked for clarification on rebooking, I was told “you’ll have to go online” and the line was abruptly closed while I was mid-conversation. It felt like a system running on fumes, where the basic standards of care and communication are no longer being met. It’s clear the staff are overworked, but this experience left me feeling like just another problem to be moved along quickly. I didn’t feel heard, I didn’t feel helped — and I certainly didn’t feel safe. This isn’t about blame, but it is about accountability. If nothing changes, people will keep falling through the cracks — and I nearly did.

Review titled Hopefully I haven't got anything serious
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 May 2025
Before anyone starts reading, I am writing very quietly and calmly so as not to offend anyone. On Tuesday I submitted an eConsult form, because it seemed like a sensible way to do things. However, sadly no response in the "advertised service window of 18:30 the following day". Sent a reminder, after which I was called the following morning at 08:22 (approx 2 days after the original eConsult form submitted). Unfortunately I missed the call because simply didn't hear my phone (sorry my phone isn't welded to me!) and I was busy being ill at the time. Returned the call at 08:31. Elected for a call back which occurred at 09:08, only to be told by a rather dismissive receptionist that the doctor would call me back again sometime but couldn't say whether it would be today, tomorrow, or this week????. I really don't understand why can't there be a defined time window? (like by end of day) "Let's remind ourselves,... it was you guys who didn't stick to your originally advertised service levels in the first place". I am now in a situation where my condition is worsening and I am unable to leave the house, and what's worse is I am left playing guessing games as to when I might receive some help. I still think eConsult is a useful way of doing things, but sadly not when the service is run like this. Hopefully I haven't got anything serious!? Lastly,... I was asked to resubmit this review because it looked like I might be raising my voice. Fair enough, I don't have a problem with that,... because it is now Friday and it gives me the opportunity to point out that I am still waiting for a phone call from the doctor.

Review titled Not possible to get appointment!
Rated 1 star out of 5

This is the worst GP practice! Unfortunately, due to relocation, I needed a new GP. Experienced huge pain in my body and stayed on the phone line for 1 hour I had not gotten any appointment for few days!

Dear Patient I am sorry to see that you have struggled to contact the Practice via the telephone. We are currently experiencing increased demand on our telephone lines, which has resulted in longer wait times. Our patient services team has been working very hard to answer calls under the additional pressure. However, I recognise that difficulties in accessing the Practice can be extremely frustrating for our patients and I apologise unreservedly for any upset or inconvenience. Please be assured that the staff at the Practice are working to their capacity in these challenging circumstances. Kind regards Kelly Patient Experience Team Modality Partnership

Review titled Why so difficult to get X-ray results and follow-up?
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Jennifer - Posted on 28 April 2025
Following an e-Consult on 31st March, I was asked to book an X-ray at Bracknell healthspace. The doctor said 'we can review agaiin with the results'. I waited a couple of weeks, checking regularly on my online medical record, then phoned the surgery results line on 3 afternoons last week. The first two times I was told that they didn't have the results and that maybe I should phone Bracknell Radiology to chase them up. Bracknell Radiology told me that the results went to the RBH at Reading, so I phoned Reading Radiology only to be told that the results had been sent to Wokingham Medical Centre on the day of the X-ray and to tell them to look on ICE. I phoned WMC on Thursday 24th and was told by the receptionist that the results were there, but she couldn't access them. She said she would message a doctor 'straight away' and that they would contact me. having heard nothing since, I made an online request this morning, Meanwhile I looked at my medical record again, and found that the results were there, but under Consultations, not under Test Results. I am still waiting to speak to a GP so that they can explain the meaning of the results and advise on what to be done next. There is no point in sending patients for X-rays if the results are not going to be followed up in a timely manner without the patient having to make multiple phonecalls and online requests.

Review titled Worst receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 March 2025
9:44 5th of March phone call back Absolutely worst receptionist that ever spoken to , doesn’t allow me to mention any names but they definitely need to look into, she is not listening to you she just wants to get rid of you over the phone immediately. Absolutely horrible approach from her side she thinks that I don’t remember her voice and even tries to say why do you want to know my name when you ask her over the phone so you can’t make a complaint to the supervisor there. Had booked e consult and wanted to see a doctor because I have other appointments for these two days and my son situation is getting worse. She shouldn’t work in the practice. Take precautions and listen to all her conversations with the people have no clue of her behaviour.

Review titled Impressed by GP innovation
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 March 2025
During a recent face to face consultation I was asked if Heidi auto transcription could be used. This meant the GP didn’t have to spend time typing notes and so the consultation was in my opinion much more meaningful. The GP could give me full attention. I would encourage anyone to accept using this.

Review titled Terrible practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 February 2025
Called 4 times for an appointment in the last month. Ongoing cough, ongoing congestion, new onset rash. Unable to pre book an appointment which I think is ludicrous. Every time told to ring at 8am for an appt and always 50th in queue. When able to speak to someone from reception they said all appts have been taken and to call back tomorrow. Unfortunately this is just not good enough. Avoid at all costs. Terrible customer service and terrible way to run a surgery.
