After experiencing numerous problems recently I was seen by Dr Hampsheir who went out of his way to reassure me and arrange for me to have blood tests and scans promptly to rule out anything that might be considered to be serious. I was treated with efficiency and empathy and cannot fault the service that I received from him. After a follow up appointment everything concerning my results was explained in an easy to understand manner regarding my ongoing treatments and further investigations which are yet to be conducted. The receptionist that I spoke with to make further appointments was polite respectful and helpful explaining that she was understanding of my request . The only criticism I feel that I must make is the difficulty in making an appointment in the first instance whether trying to navigate the online portal or getting through to the practice on the phone but once this has been overcome the service is second to none. Everyone I have encountered at the practice seem to be doing the best that they can under extremely difficult circumstances and this is not something that I feel should go unmentioned. To say that I have never encountered problems in my 30 plus years with the practice would be a lie but that is not reflective of the service at this point in time. All surgeries are under pressure and come in for a lot of criticism for various reasons and I can only comment on my experiences and thank them for their service.

idk why is so many starts some people give, maybe they so racist was for me as I am different nationality. asked very simple thing, just to change next of kind for my children's to my husband as I planning to go work, in case is something happens. She said she can't do that. the reason is: because we both still alive . How ever, is not one bad experience with this gp. They couldn't write properly address to my husband, I had to asked them 4 times. My husband didn't received first nhs letter with his nhs number because of they mistake. I went back to ask for that letter, they told me they can't do that. Manager print his NHS letter cross address and wrote with pencil by hand. I mean if you can do you job, how come have no shame to take salary ? Receptionist said: if you not happy you can change gp. So far they always was saying that to me. Is that is because I am different nationality ?

Having been diagniosed with work related anxiety and depression, I have since late 2021, regularly dealt with two doctors and a Mental Health Practitioner at Thorpewood, either through telephone or face-to-face appointments. All three professionals have been knowledgeable, supportive and I have always felt listened to and dealt with as an individual. Too often, we do not praise professionals enough when they are doing a terrific job. Without their help and support, I would not be as far along this diffcult journey as I am now. Thank you.

I had my first face-to-face GP consultation today since the pandemic started. A recent visit to hospital casualty department, with an uncertain diagnosis, was handled extremely well by my GP. He was professional, astute and clinically focussed on ensuring that I left his care, with a plan of medicine changes, investigations and follow up. His manner was extremely comforting after a few days of wondering what was happening to my body! This busy practice is often criticised by the public, it's admin staff appeared harassed in reception, however all its patient list, should appreciate the care and attention they receive from this practice: the team continues to deliver care to a complex community, under challenging circumstances. I am a recently retired NHS orthopaedic specialist nurse, who is very grateful for the care given to me today. Regards and appreciation.

I was seen as an emergency appointment on the day and spoke to very friendly and helpful reception staff. The GP that I saw was very caring and I was very satisfied with my appointment. Excellent service, I highly recommend this practice.

I arrived for my appointment to see a GP doing CPR on a collapsed patient in entrance foyer. 2 ambulances attended. Surgery staff were amazing....calm, quiet and very professional with unhappy patients unable to attend their appointments. They were given new appointments. I was able to see my doctor who was friendly and professional and referred me for an x-ray. Today I had follow up appointment to review results of x-ray. I felt listened to and not rushed. I was given options regarding my medication. I've been a patient at the surgery for over 20 years and have never had a bad experience.

It took me nearly 2 years to get a face 2 face GP appointment to discuss ongoing issue and medication review. Online booking system not acceptable, and receptionist that do not like to answer the phone and are rude. When you call you can wait over an hour in the call que, to be talked to rudly and re-direct to the online booking system. When you finally manage to get an appointment be prepaired to wait nearly and hour and a half to be seen. The Dr I did see though was very caring and understanding and the first GP at the surgery that I did not feel rushed or belittled by. Compasionate and empathetic, listened, discussed many options and I will always from now on try to aske to see him.

The Reception Team here are committed, hardworking and suffer extreme abuse. Having spent many hours with them, I cannot accept they are rude. Thank you for your positive comments on the GP. My husband and I contacted the surgery at 16.30 in the afternoon and were offered an appointment with the duty GP at 17.45 the same day. We are greeted by the friendly receptionist who explained the GP was running about 10 minutes late which was very useful to be informed. The GP was extremely thorough offered advice , examined us both and arrange for a blood test and sorted a prescription. He also asked us to return to the surgery if we were no better in a few days super friendly efficient service. Thank you .
