    I would like to say a big thank you to my Diabetic nurse for all her support in getting my levels normal.and we’ve done it so happy 😀 really happy with doctors for there support and very friendly receptionist so 10/10 from me thank you

    I was very concerned about my husband, receptionist was so kind and very help. The doctor was thorough, very reassuring, also had brilliant people skills, well done thorpewood. A big thank you to the young doctor.

    I just wanted to leave a review for a Nurse Practitioner. Hopefully she will see this review and know it is her I am referring too. I was so anxious about my Cervical Smear appointment today. I just wanted to say thank you for your patience, for making me feel more at ease and for being so kind and understanding!

    I hadn't been taking my blood pressure medication for a while and decided to check in. I was seen within a few days, given another prescription and regularly asked back so that my progress could be monitored. This has included blood tests. This has all been very reassuring and is a great service. Thank you.

    I've been at this practice since 1989, and through many changes, many good GPs, and the general decline in NHS services, I've had consistently decent and careful treatment here, where my views and needs were nearly always valued ( the odd locum excepted); even when very stretched for staff. I have a long term immune disorder, so I rely on GP and hospital services such as monthly blood tests. Fantastic to have phlebotomy on site. Even during pandemic I was actively contacted if there were any concerns for my health. 1 star down, as phone queues are a pain, but a message sent via online services prompts a relevant response in good time. Repeat prescriptions have been lost in the past, but not recently. Overall, responsive and holistic care.

    I’ve been a patient for over 20 years now and have always rated Thorpewood very highly! The staff are always polite and helpful and are always willing to go the extra mile to help. I currently have Achilles tendinitis and the staff went above and beyond to assist me in getting regular face to face appointments with an NHS physiotherapist. These regular appointments have lead to a programme of strengthening exercises/stretches etc which will eventually lead to a full recovery. I would recommend this medical practice to friends and family.

    I have been a patient at Thorpewood Medical Group for well over 15 years now. The Covid pandemic affected everyone deeply - from patients and their loved ones to all NHS staff. Lessons on all sides are being learned. After working for the Ambulance service for over 14 years I am more than aware of the pressures involved in working in an ever-stretched and under-funded NHS. Everyone feels it. The Lead Practitioner of Thorpewood has been my GP for a very long time now and has always been a thoroughly decent and good man. He is caring and compassionate, as well as being pragmatic and utterly professional. I've met with other GPs at the practice: for specific conditions, and I believe that all clinicians at Thorpewood would always want to aspire to the ethos embodied in the Lead Practitioner. My experience with the many staff on reception has always been positive. When they are approached with patience, clarity and common courtesy this will be rewarded in kind. Thank you.

    Unable to contact them by telephone as they repeatedly switch the lines off - even in the case of a child being unwell under the age of 6 months which is appalling. I refuse to rely on them for anything other than my children's immunisations (both nurses involved in this have always been fantastic) and repeat prescriptions. The receptionist is rude and unhelpful and no one is capable of even giving details of how to make a complaint. The service is so poor that I have to rely on the walk-in centre whenever my 18 month and 3 year old are unwell. As a result if my frustrations and the lack of contact, I've decided to register elsewhere - not ideal but I cannot rely on a GP surgery where they simply switch the phones off and cannot deal with even the most basic of requests.

    Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Our phone lines are on between the hours of 0800-1830 Monday to Friday. Once there are 15 callers in the queue, the phone line will not let you join the queue and you will have to try again. Im sorry you feel that the service is poor and as a result have registered elsewhere.
