  1. Review titled Not a great practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Michael - Posted on 19 April 2024

Changed medication. Got blood test done to ensure new medicine was working and had to phone them to arrange a telephone consultation so new medicine could be put on recurring prescription. After waiting for nearly an hour I was just told no appointments available telephone again tomorrow at 8am. Rationing appointments now?? If there is a choice of dying earlier or trying to grapple with their system I choose the former!

  2. Review titled poor customer service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 February 2023

Trying to book appointment over the phone, waiting for a long time then the phone was picked up could hear 2 ladies chatting in the background for about a minute and then the phone was put down. Had to call again and again wait in a long queue. When I managed to speak to a receptionist and explain what happen there was no apology just a short statement" I don't know". NHS should provide its staff with better customer service training!

Also However the young man help me with the online service and show me step by step on how to use it and all the apps they offer. Now I can get an appointment when I need one.

  4. Review titled Great Local Medical Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tim Chaplin - Posted on 25 January 2023

I had a review for my Asthma by phone and the nurse recommended me for a health check as I was due one. I got an appointment within 2 days at the medical centre. It was before work so very convenient and I was one of the first patients to be seen. The Nurse did some tests and we discussed my health since the last check up and recommendations on diet and exercise and general wellbeing. I was impressed at getting an appointment so quickly.

  5. Review titled Practice has disintegrated

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 December 2022

Covid restrictions ended. GPs still extremely inaccessible. Repeat prescriptions are not dispensed easily or promptly. Without repeat prescription we can get ill and end up in A and E or hospital. These GPs are irresponsible and hampering the NHS. The GP services in the whole of Lewisham have completely fallen apart since some sort of merger, I believe? Is it so very hard to dispense a repeat prescription over the internet?!!

Thank you for your comment. Covid restrictions have not ended. Although the government has deemed it okay for patients to be out in public after testing positive, we have taken into consideration the health concerns of our vulnerable patients in such a small area with limited airflow therefore, still flowing certain guidelines. As you may be aware, General Practices are facing difficult times, and we are working extremely hard to ensure that all patient needs and care are being attended to. If you are struggling to make a GP appointment, we do offer online service such as the Ask First App which allows you to pre-book in up to 3 weeks in advance. This app will not require any credentials from your practice. If you would like help in setting this up, please do not hesitate to walk into the surgery. We do understand the importance of a patients repeat prescription and the consequences of patients not having their medication. As our prescriptions are a 48hr turnover, we do advise patients to request medication at least a week in advance to prevent any delays. If you wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact me. Many thanks. Jacqueline Henty Practice Manager

  6. Review titled Great patient care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been very impressed by how the surgery has dealt with issues relating to my son and I in recent months. Receptionists have been responsive and efficient whenever we have called. Doctors have been thorough and have provided excellent patient care. At a time when everything is stretched, we have felt hugely looked after by the surgery.

We attended as drop-ins at a Sat am flu clinic and discovered we should have booked appointments. Reception staff very friendly, helpful and polite. They arranged for us to have our flu vaccine without an appt.

  8. Review titled Awfully organised

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 August 2022

All appointments I have had have been considerably late. Recently after seeing a GP, he tried to prescribe some medication but couldn’t they it through the system. The practice then made me walk to their sister practice to get it out through On arriving, they were unable to print this off, and couldn’t contact the GP. This left me waiting in the surgery multiple hours, with no updates on when or how it would be resolved.

Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback. We do apologise that this has happened to you. To prevent this happening in the future, you can nominate a pharmacy so your prescription could go electronically across to them. 9. Review titled Dismissive of my symptoms so had to go to HCA

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Mr Usher - Posted on 13 December 2022

I had an infection which was very painful. Firstly they wouldn't see me and suggested a video consult (it was in my genitals so I refused) They gave me a cursory exam and gave me antibiotics. Pain continued so I had to pay for a consultant appointment and he diagnosed me with cysts. The GP at St Johns barely examined me and it was impossible to get a follow up.

  10. Review titled Rude and unprofessional reception

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 June 2022

Can never get an appt. Go there and the reception will say she can't help you. She will tell you to call at 245pm or go online to make appts. When you call at 245pm, you will wait for an hour in the telephone queue and be told there are no appts. Was rudely told if I thought it was urgent I should go to a&e. In other words, do not bother them. There is no way to make appointments online. My son had appts for dressing change. Twice the appts were cancelled and we were not told til we arrived. This is absolutely disgraceful. They need to do something about the reception and the lack of doctors.

Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback. We do apologise that you were unable to book an appointment and that you were not informed of your appointment being cancelled. Due to the current circumstances, general practices are under a significant amount of pressure as the demand continues to outweigh capacity. We currently offer appointment up to 3 weeks in advance via our Ask first app which does not require any credentials from reception. Our care navigators are trained to appoint patients to the right services if we do not have the availability at our practice. We do contact all patients when cancelling their appointment because we do understand the frustration of turning up and no longer being able to see the clinician. Please ensure that the contact details for yourself and son are up to date on our system. We are trying our best to provide the best service as possible in these challenging times. Due to you being anonymous, we are unable to contact you. If you wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact me. Many thanks. Jacqueline Henty Practice Manager
