I have experienced chronic fatigue since October 2023 and also October 2022 to May 2023. In that time, I have struggled to get diagnosed, seen by doctors and sometimes, even get referred privately. I have also suffered poor mental health and this has compounded my difficulties. My initial blood results missed a crucial B12 blood test and this turned out to be 'borderline' - this meant that the Long Covid diagnosis I was given 6 months prior was not conclusive and may be incorrect. Thoughout the case, I have seen about 8 doctors in this time - every time I have to talk through my case to date. This is both frustrating and time-consuming. In the last appointment, I walked away feeling upset with my doctor's reaction - who had a rather dismissive view towards my efforts to resolve my chronic fatigue. He seemed to cast my 'Gousto' meals as processed food (which they are not) and told me off for subscribing to Zoe and said I should just eat more fruit and veg to increase my gut microbiome - this is despite me telling him I had tested my microbiome through Zoe and it came back as 'very good'. Quite honestly, I have been doing everything to fix my health and feel frustrated that no one seems to be able to support, guide or help me through this. I know there is no easy fix - but I need to continuously explore the challenge for my own mental health.

Good Morning As your review is anonymous we cannot comment directly about your experiences but apologise they were not what you expected. All our GPs are highly trained after many years training and always will refer to the NHS & NICE Guidelines, although we do realise that online you can find varying ideas and alternative suggestions for health conditions. We also have Social prescribers that you can talk to about the minefield of alternative advice that is out there online. Please feel free to request an appointment with one if that will help. Booking system worked OK, although sharp elbows are needed to grab an appointment. On the day, I was seen promptly and had a good quality examination and advice on a number of topics.

Apart from the fact that the telephone consultation was 45 minutes late, the Doctor listened with patience to my concerns regarding my husband (I have a Lasting Power of Attorney for him). He offered a practical solution and arranged a further appointment. I did not feel he was rushing me.

Had a few ups and downs healthwise with asthma and medication. The patience, understanding and care I have been shown as I have got used to my medication needs has been so reassuring. Couldn’t be in better hands thank you.

After several appointments over a long period ... often hard to get appointments - I finally saw "my" doctor and what a pleasure it was! Finally a clear and positive diagnosis based on physical examination. It has taken a long time getting here, but what a relief!!

Had an appointment with the GP for an issue with my legs. I have an underlying condition so was keen to get this checked out ASAP. The GP made me feel at ease by explaining everything well.

Bit disappointed as I had a lump which had started to get bigger and I was concerned but as I had lump awhile he didn't seemed bothered but I was as it had got bigger.i managed to make appointment for Monday now. Be glad when you can ring and make appointment same day all this is not helping people's predicaments.and ailments .

Dear Patient Our book on the day appointments are only for advice for patients with problems that are clinically urgent to be advised on the same day. We are sorry that we can not see everyone on the day but our patient list size does not allow for that. Poor communication from the surgery in dealing with my urgent issue regarding a change in medication. Unhelpful and inaccurate text from gp in response to my medication query.

Before speaking to the doctor today I saw the doctor on the 14th December 2023. Now nine weeks later my symptoms are still the same if not worse. The doctor today wouldn’t see me. I have to until next Thursday to have a physical appointment. I am not in the best of health generally. I am very disappointed that I will not be able to see a doctor properly for another week.

Dear Patient We are sorry to hear you are disappointed. Our on the day appointments are for Urgent issues that will not wait. For ongoing conditions we issue pre-bookable appointments online at 10am each day. If you do not specify any certain GPs you will have more availability. For medication questions we also have clinical pharmacists attached to us that can also advise you. The pharmacies are also now commissioned to help patients with minor illnesses and in some cases are now able to prescribe directly. We hope this helps Kind Regards Leckhampton Surgery
