    Recently moved to the Grange from another general practice in the area and can’t believe the difference in the level of service. Registered online and all went through straightforward. I wanted an appt to review my medication so registered with the Patchs service, and a clinician called me back as arranged within two days, we discussed my concerns with my current medication regime and I have been referred to see a specialist. The Dr who called me back was knowledgeable, empathetic and made me feel better and more hopeful about living with my health condition after a 5 minute conversation, than I have in the past two years after endless appointments with my previous surgery. Excellent example of how to do patient care right. Thank you

    A blood sample was taken successfully at the first attempt when previously elsewhere there have been many failures to find a vein. I then needed a telephone appointment with my doctor & I noticed that yet again the receptionist showed a very helpful attitude…. Totally different to how things were a couple of years ago. My doctor had been too busy to get to ring me on the planned Friday afternoon but remarkably he rang me on Sunday morning & he was extremely helpful. All things considered I think this is a very helpful & caring practice.

    I have waited for three telephone appointments over the past month, cancelling other appointments and meetings in order to be in a quiet, private place conducive to sensitive discussion. All three appointments were listed on the NHS app but not on a direct text. Indeed, if I had not checked the app I would not have known. One appointment was two hours late but did eventually ring, one I had to ring the Practice after waiting over three and a half hours and only then did a practitioner deign to ring me back. The last one which stated a time of 9 am did not happen at all. I waited, becoming increasingly anxious and agitated all day. I had clarified that the appointment was a telephone appointment with a pharmacist, manager and receptionist on three occasions prior to the day and was assured that it was a telephone appointment and not face-to-face. On checking the NHS app I am appalled to read that I did not attend! I am disgusted at the lack of care and respect for patient’s time. The reason for the appointments are never disclosed (plus, for instance, what the term ‘Blocked’ means next to an appointment) which is an additional stress and cause of anxiety; my blood pressure is high and is certainly not helped by the continuing problems with communication. Staff answer the telephone quite quickly, are friendly and try to help but the system does not work. For patients who do not use technology or think to look on the NHS app the system that is being used is useless.

There is a requirement for practices to list their workload on appointment lists and this is being centrally monitored and reported by NHS England. Unfortunately, our listing of "appointments" in the system can cause some confusion for patients and the team will review how we do this going forward. Kind regards DS

    Absolutely shocking patient treatment. Supposed to have a phone call doctors appointment I’ve been waiting for 2 weeks for at 3:40pm. Didn’t get a call until 5:05pm, when I answered it she cut it off straight away. I called back at 5:07pm and was told she would ring me straight back. I heard nothing and rang back at 5:45pm to be told I will not be getting an appointment because she had tried to ring me “3 times” and suddenly now my phone number doesn’t work? Even though it worked the first time she rang. More like they was running over an hour and 20 minutes late with appointments and wanted it to look like I’d missed my appointment so they could go home for the night!!! Wouldn’t usually complain about something like this as I’ve been going to this surgery since I was born but unfortunately this isn’t the first time something like this has happened with them over the past couple of years. The patient care has rapidly gone down hill. It’s becoming more negatives than positives these days!

    I find this practice very accommodating for wheelchair users. The online check in also removes any difficulties with signing in. Stay are all friendly and transparent with the care they give.

    I have seen my Dr on the 5th Oct He was very pleasant as always and very engaging in decision making after my MRI & my Blood Test Results came back. I am at this surgery only because of the Friendly and Engaging approach adopted by my Dr. Thank you

    The receptionist are very helpful and polite at reception area and over the phone. The Dr's are also helpful in the advice they give you along with the medication you're been given. They also keep you up to date for your appointments, all in all a very safe and helpful system. Would much prefer a face to face than a phone call, gives of a more secure and comforting feeling when you're talking with your GP.

    I Phone up the Grange Practice today, to chase up why my medications hadn't been sent the pharmacy next door, as I have them delivered to me weekly. And the receptionist told me off, telling me it was my job to do that, Shaw's should contacting the Grange their self. I know the problem lies with the Grange, as up until over 1 and a half year ago, if not longer, I never had to call up to find out why I haven't received my medications this week. It now seems like its every other week there's an issue with my medications not being done. I have to check every week on my online account as to whether it's be done yet. We are told at the start of the call to the Grange to respect the staff and not be abusive to them, but surely that cuts both ways.
