    Having been bitten by a spider I walked into the reception area at 1500 hrs .The lady who served me was ver professional. She contacted the doctors and was seen within minutes. Thank you to all involved.

    Once you have learnt that all appointments are made at 8 am on the day it is fairly easy to secure one quickly although they go very fast. The initial appointments are by telephone which is great for those who can make themselves understood over the phone. Looking at most of the other reviews on this site, they are nearly all negative, and it is obvious that GPs are under much pressure; and coming from a generation who once saw their doctor as a reassurance who was always there I believe those days are gone. The new health secretary announced to Parliament that the target to see your GP will be 2 weeks, by which time, if you are lucky, you will be better, or if not you may be dead. I do not think the NHS is supported, everybody who can should go private, everybody else should toss a coin.

    The doctor seemed very disinterested in me as a person and had clearly not acquainted himself with my previous notes. After the initial telephone appointment a face to face appointment was only reluctantly offered. A subsequent attempt to get an appointment with any doctor at the surgery was met with "try again tomorrow", this was at 8.30 in the morning. My overall impression was that the practise was in difficulties, this is very frustrating for registered patients with nowhere else to go.
