Review titled 2- 3 weeks for a telephone appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by David J - Posted on 16 April 2024
Absolutely ridiculous that working people can’t get an appointment - we get put on a waiting list just for a telephone appointment. Then with your staff giving the wrong info to patients they then have to wait again another 3 weeks for another phone call to try again for a simple blood test !! You should be ashamed of your service ! Your mistake , you should sort it but you don’t care

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. We understand the frustration patients feel with accessing appointments and the perception that our practice is unable to help, however, we must work to safe limits set by the BMA for patient contacts within the clinics. We are unable to comment on incorrect information given as we would require patient information to investigate this. This is not the forum to do this and I would ask that you contact us directly at feedback.deepingspractice@nhs.net The Deepings Practice is under considerable pressure and we are aware that it is affecting the access. Unfortunately, the issues affecting General Practice are not resolvable by Practices themselves. The NHS is under considerable pressure. Secondary Care waiting times are in excess of 2 years and this is pushing more and more work into General Practice which is not resourced by the Government. GP numbers in England continue to fall due to a demoralised workforce. Funding for General Practice has fallen and continues to fall. The British Medical Association provide more detailed information regarding the current pressures: https://www.bma.org.uk/advice-and-support/gp-practices/managing-workload/safe-working-in-general-practice https://www.bma.org.uk/advice-and-support/nhs-delivery-and-workforce/pressures/pressures-in-general-practice-data-analysis We ask for your support by bringing your concerns to the attention of your MP and ask that you to apply pressure to politicians to support General Practice before it is too late and the service is lost. Kind Regards Claire Deputy Practice Manager The Deepings Practice

Dear Mr Barker, Thank you for your feedback. Looking at the record, I can see we attempted to telephone you 3 times on 19th April 2004 (13:50, 13:55 and 14:00). There is a note stating the mobile number was not recognised. We would appreciate it if you could contact the practice to update your telephone number(s). Review titled Refusal of medical treatment for my child
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 April 2024
I have tried 3 days in a row to get at least a phone call with a doctor for my son. We have had to call 111 as he got worse and they left notes to say he needs to see the gp. Called the surgery to be told for the third day in a row he can’t be seen take him to a&e or call 111 again . They simply do not want to see patients would rather just fob you off to a&e so they don’t have to deal with you!!! Refusing medical treatment to a child is disgusting

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. We understand the frustration patients feel with accessing appointments and the perception that our practice is unable to help, however, we must work to safe limits set by the BMA for patient contacts within the clinics. We keep a measure of same day, urgent appointments back each day for patients with urgent problems, but as you can imagine these fill up quickly, and once we are at capacity with no further on the day appointments to offer, we would signpost patients to the most suitable service based on their symptoms and the urgency they feel they need to be seen. NHS111, urgent treatment centres and minor injuries are services in place for these patients, a pharmacy may also be able to help patients. The Deepings Practice does not have the capacity to be an urgent treatment centre. As above, we will, where possible offer the patient a same day urgent appointment if we have availability. However, the services mentioned above are available for urgent conditions. The Deepings Practice is under considerable pressure and we are aware that is is affecting the access. Unfortunately, the issues affecting General Practice are not resolvable by Practices themselves. The NHS is under considerable pressure. Review titled Friendly and efficient
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 March 2024
I called early in the morning and though it took some time to access the queue, once in it there was regular information and it moved quickly. Professional and friendly receptionist with prompt call back from a GP. The GP was reassuring, took time to listen, and offered options for treatment, then described a clear plan of care. Also gave advice of how to get a follow up appointment if needed.

Review titled Unacceptable
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anon - Posted on 09 March 2024
This practice is a disgrace. Waiting for phone call following blood test results for over 4 weeks and then on the day of the telephone appointment (a Saturday) they didn’t even bother ringing and no one to get hold of! Have also waiting for certain medication needed for months and rude unhelpful receptionists. Doctors also found sitting on desk at private hospital in Peterborough when you can’t get NHS appointments with them for love nor money! This is people’s lives!

I had to wait for nearly 3 weeks for a telephone appointment and then no call. No message nor any reason for not calling. I am left not knowing why the surgery arranged this appointment just not good enough,
