Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hilda Littlewood - Posted on 04 March 2025
A little anxious to receive the results of a recent CT scan. Able to use the surgeries callback system to book an appointment, which saves both time and stress waiting on the phone, it’s a great system. Spoke to a very helpful receptionist, and able to request GP of choice. Though appointment a few days away, I was happy to be able to speak to a GP I know and trust. GP listened carefully and empathically, explained in detail what had showed up on the scan (which works for me) and was able to reassure me that nothing serious was going on, though it would seem that an existing condition was conceivably getting worse. Gave me some helpful guidance and checked me over, suggesting a final common test to rule out infection. I went away very reassured. Thank you!

Via the NHS app sent a message about a rash along with some pictures early on a Monday morning and got a SMS back within 15minutes with an appointment for 11am same day. Was called into my appointment few minutes early and was dealt with quickly and professionally and back home in 15mins!

Review titled Amazing quick service and super friendly GP
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Rang at 4.30 on a Wednesday afternoon after being advised by the pharmacist to get my 5 year old checked over due to persistent high temp, cough and asthma. Had a phone call back from the GP before 5pm and was in the surgery by 5.45 to be checked over. The GP was so warm, welcoming and spoke directly to my 5 year old which he loved and got him on side for all the checks. The GP explained everything well to my son and completed a thorough review. At the end she printed him a bravery certificate, assured me to bring him back if anything changed and advised me to what to look out for. Absolutely brilliant service. Thank you

After discharge from hospital I had concerns about my health. I was given an appointment one hour later. The doctor was kind caring and thorough. And I felt much better. Well done ...

Review titled Accessability for Carers
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Neurodiverse Parent - Posted on 14 August 2024
Unable to have my child's records available on my NHS app. Age 16. Surgery suggested thet download app themselves which is too demanding for them. Then asked to go home and write a letter to bring back in to the surgery authorising access as no standard forms to sign. This was very stressful for my child. Why is there no standard form.

Review titled Prompt, Efficient Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by M P Boler - Posted on 15 April 2024
I cannot speak too highly of the service I received from Swallownest Health Centre last week. The telephone receptionist recognised the seriousness of my symptoms and gave me an early appointment and within thirty minutes of that appointment ending I was admitted to Rotherham Urgent Emergency Care Unit. The receptionist, doctor and diagnostic ECG nurse worked seamlessly together to produce a lifesaving outcome for me. Saying thank you seems totally inadequate.

Review titled Superb paramedic
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 April 2024
My husband had an appointment today, I went along too so I could support and implement any changes. We saw the paramedic who was fantastic, so calm, listened to everything and clearly explained the way forward. I didn't feel like we were rushed and it was a very thorough appointment. Thank you.

Review titled Great check-up experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Lovely friendly nurse at my hypertension review and she was able to take my blood sample on the first attempt (by no means an easy feat usually!). A very good experience all round apart from the self check-in screens not working so causing a slight delay. The receptionist efficiently dealt with the queue and someone else came to help out too. I only had to sit in the waiting area for a few moments before being called for my appointment. Obviously technology causing a bit of a problem but all dealt with effectively.

Review titled Sympathetic staff and good service
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Marcus J - Posted on 16 February 2024
Contrary to the reviews seen here, I have nothing but praise from this centre. Following an accident my follow up GP appointment was fair and efficient. The reception staff were considerate and the GP I saw was sympathetic and answered my concerns. Too many times we hear of negativity but I thought it was worth posting this bit of positively for balance.

Review titled Appauling receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5

There are only 2 receptionists / phone operatives that are helpful and understanding. I make a point of asking for either by name when I call. There is one who is particularly unhelpful and condescending and questions ME when I ask for help! It’s literally like banging your head against a brick wall. Why are they closed for “training” every Thursday? What do they learn? How to say “you’ll have to phone at 8 in the morning” and “We can’t take script requests over the phone.” The online ordering service has worked 1 out of 6 times I’ve tried to use it. Maybe Thursday training should be more customer focused and lessons in manners. The doctors are brilliant (if you can get an appointment) but the receptionists seem deliberately obstructive and obtuse.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely appreciate your openness, and we sincerely apologise for any frustration or inconvenience you feel that you may have experienced with our reception staff. We're committed to providing excellent service, and your feedback helps us in supporting and identifying areas of focus where our patients feel we can improve. We understand that interactions with our receptionists are crucial, and we want every patient to feel heard and supported. We value your insights and assure you that we are taking steps to enhance our customer service training to ensure a more positive experience for all patients. If you have any additional details or if there's anything specific you'd like us to address, please feel free to contact us so that we review specific phone calls on our recorded calls. We are committed to learning from this experience and making the necessary changes to better serve our patients. Our staff are aware not to ask patients to call back at 8 but to ask questions to triage the patient to be able to provide an assessment of need and actively sign post to the most appropriate clinician first time - this may not always be a Dr, but may be one of of the many specialist clinicians who are employed by our Primary Care Network - Physician Associate, Paramedic, Social Prescribing Link Worker, Pharmacist to name but a few. With regards to the scripts; we changed this process in July 2018 in line with safety - please refer to our website for more information in support of this. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Kind regards, Miss Sarah Buckley Practice Manager
