Review titled They leave you in agony and pain
by Sarah - Posted on 02 April 2025
When a patient has chronic pain and a pain specialist recommends pain killers to help the pain it’s not fair that you as the GP refuse to prescribe the painkillers when they are on the formulary and approved by NICE. It’s not ethical to leave a patient in pain and suffering knowing that medication can help and you refuse to accept the specialist advice of a consultant and refuse to prescribe it. You can’t just go around assuming the worst in patients and thinking we are feigning symptoms especially when my MRI scan and nerve conduction test show I have 4 slipped discs squashing the nerves in my legs and I can barely walk. This is uncaring and your approach shows no sympathy or kindness. And your practice manager seriously lacks professionalism and is exceptionally rude and and shouldn’t be in that role. When will the regulator act?

Thank you for your review. Please be assured we would not leave a patient in such pain. We are surprised given your condition that the specialist has not helped you and prescribed any medication or referred you for further care? Please do contact us and we will see how we can help and why the specialist has not helped further given your condition.

Review titled They refuse to examine patients after a 12 week wait
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 April 2025
During a consultation, which I had to wait 12 weeks for, the GP didn’t want to examine my rectum and abdomen even though I was bleeding from the back passage and was worried I would have bowel cancer especially as my dad had it. The GP said it’s pile and how does she know that without even examining me? When I asked to be examined she said it’s not needed and she doesn’t have any gloves. I’m leaving this Surgery because I want a doctor who sees me and examines me.

Thank you for your review. The current waiting time for a routine appt is 2 to 3 weeks depending on the clinician you would like to see. We have plenty of gloves in stock and that is not a reason not to examine a patient. We would not examine a patients rectum unless there was a clinical need to do so and most patients would be pleased that such an examination was not required. Thank you for the time you have been registered with us and we wish you well at your new Practice.

Review titled Caring and helpful GP practice - Thank you
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sue - Posted on 20 April 2025
I have good experience with all staff, from admin to nurse or Gp. I am diabetic and whenever I feel sick, I got right advice at the right time. The practice invites me for an annual diabetic review and when ever i need help or advice i have found them to be very responsive. If I submitted an online request i get a response back the same day. Thank you for being so caring and efficient.

Review titled Communication
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 April 2025
I was told by the woman GP that my baby keeps getting infections because I don’t breast feed and that babies that are not breast-fed grow up with lots of health problems and low level of intelligence. I don’t think judging single mother patients is good communication. I asked for formula milk on prescription because I can’t afford to buy milk and I was refused and told to learn to breast feed even though I can’t.

Thank you for your review. While breast feeding is beneficially there may be other reasons why formula milk is advantageous. If there is a medical reason then the NHS can prescribe formula milk however this would not be prescribed for financial reasons. Please do contact us and we can see if or how we can help.

Review titled Great wound care!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Saffron Kambo - Posted on 26 March 2025
I recently burned my leg, which has required regular appointments with the wound care nurse. The nurse has been very helpful with my wound dressings and reassured me that my wound is healing! Thank you for all your help! :)

Today l received excellent Doctor and Practice care for which l am sincerely grateful. My Doctor in particular, was able to provide immense personal reassurance with relevant actions promptly placed as required. A true professional. The team of Doctors, Receptionists, Nurses and Office Staff to whom l spoke have seen are exceptional and always go the extra mile to help and support me and my family l feel very reassured to be registered at our Practice.

Review titled Very unhelpful
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 March 2025
I found it extremely difficult to book an appointment. I was given an appointment four weeks later for a telephone appointment, which isn’t acceptable as I needed a face-to-face appointment with a GP but the receptionist said they don’t offer face-to-face appointments. I needed to be examined and was then told it would take another 2 weeks for a face-to-face appointment. During that time I became unwell with sepsis and kidney failure and was admitted to hospital for emergency treatment. I am disappointed at Studholme - they should be offering patients timely face-to-face appointments and they don’t, which is causing harm to patients. The manager is very unhelpful and seems to take no responsibility and he has absolutely no insight into how serious Studholme’s failings are.

Thank you for your review. We have received and replied to your complaint letter and we are aware that you have had problems in getting the hospital to see you and to support your health care despite our teams best efforts in referring you and chasing such referrals above and beyond their role as GP's

Review titled Needs urgent improvements
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 March 2025
I attended for my consult and felt that I wasn’t listened to and there seemed to be a lack of kindness, respect, empathy, and professionalism. The Practice wasn’t very clean and seemed to be unhygienic. They were not helpful and I left feeling they just couldn’t care less about patients. Their communication is not good and lack professionalism. It doesn’t seem to be a learning environment that can improve.

Review titled Do not recommend
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 March 2025
It’s almost impossible to get an appointment with wait times up to 5 weeks. The reception team were dismissive and the female doctor rushed the consult, constantly interrupted and talked over me, refused to examine and wouldn’t let me ask any questions even though I have chest and abdominal pain. I left feeling anxious, worried, upset and frustrated. I will move to a different Surgery.
