  3. Review titled So pleased I'm with Springhill

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Stuart Wetherell - Posted on 23 February 2024

I cannot write highly enough of the service and attention I continue to receive from this Practice. Being a "Senior" I do sometimes get concerned about little things but they always take it seriously. I do have an issue with the Accurx system though. Whilst I'm in total agreement with the Triage system and I no longer feel I'm wasting a doctor's time just asking for a routine Repeat, I do find it arduous to go through: search for Practice website; scroll to find Accurx link; consider which box my situation is appropriate for (and none of the headings seem at all appropriate), write the details; probably repeat it in tne next box which is equally inappropriate; fill in all my personal details every time; review and.... Send. Also there seems to be no interface with the NHS App. Having said (moaned) about that, the response I've had following the Triage Request has been faultless and always helpful and the Dr has always seen me within a few hours if there's any concern. A great Practice - hopefully greater when the move is completed.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback and kind words about the practice. The feedback provided is incredibly valuable to us, as it helps us continually improve and better meet the needs of our patients. I would like to address a few of the issues raised to ensure we can enhance our services and meet your expectations more effectively. Regarding the online triage, we transitioned to AccuRx as it offered a more simplified online request form that saved time for patients at the same time capturing the necessary details of the problem. Some of the questions are optional, however, we still need to gather a level of information to make the triage process smooth, effective, and safe. Patient Triage is now integrated with the NHS App. This means that patients can submit requests directly from their NHS App into our practice. If you click on our practice Patient Triage link, you may have noticed a small blue button that says, “Continue with NHS login”. More information can be found by accessing the link below: https://support.accurx.com/en/articles/6191076-patient-triage-what-is-the-nhs-app-integration Patients can also order medications via the NHS app. We encourage patients to utilize the NHS app for medication requests, offering convenience and flexibility in managing their healthcare needs. We would like to reassure you that patients can still contact the practice via phone or come in if needed and the reception team will be able to assist them with their queries. Open communication channels are vital in healthcare, and patients should feel empowered to reach out to their practice through various means. Whether online, by phone, or in person, we remain dedicated to providing support and assistance to our patients as needed. I hope this helps but please do not hesitate to reach out if there is any issue. Kind regards, Agnieszka Polej Deputy Practice Manager Spring Hill Practice

  4. Review titled Awful receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Tracey - Posted on 07 March 2024

I called for an appointment today at the surgery . The receptionist was very abrupt immediately on the phone . I had explained that I needed help with a triage form as in the past I had not heard back from the GP when submitting one . In February I had to call up to ask for help to submit a form as the previous one I did I had not heard back from the doctor . I had explained this from the receptionist . She then with attitude repeated the fact that I have to fill one out not asking for any clarification or offering help . Then proceeded to remind me of the GP getting back in with me in February and then said “what are you talking about !” With attitude ,Implying that I don’t know what I’m talking about but then I had to explain the her again that I got help during the time that’s the reason why I heard back but doing it for myself is unsuccessful. I had asked that this is an inappropriate way to speak to someone who is not well on the phone and as a GP practice you would think there would be kind and compassionate staff on the other end of the phone for sick and vulnerable people . I asked to be transferred to another receptionist and I did not feel comfortable in her filling out my form .

  5. Review titled Very rude receptionist

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 February 2024

I am feeling upset at how I was treated by the receptionist when I walked in to enquire about my medications this morning. She looked aggressive, and verbally made it plain that she felt that I was a nuisance and a nutcase. I was left feeling very angry, but unlike her, I maintained a pleasant aspect and was polite. I feel sorry for other patients who may not have this ability. I work in the NHS myself, and felt very disappointed by this low standard.

  6. Review titled Poor Service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Roy Arthur Booth - Posted on 31 January 2024

Tried to collect repeat prescription fron chemist on Monday. Was referred to GP because prescription was not authorised. Visited GP & was told would be ready by Wednesday. Told them only 2 tablets left on one medication. She assured me that everything would be OK. Went to chemist on Wed still not authorised. Chemist issued me an emergency prescription. This has been happening for approximately 1 year. Seems the chemist is giving a better servive than my GP

  8. Review titled Impressive and quality service

    by Jigme49 - Posted on 05 July 2023

AMAZING! Yesterday I had a set of blood tests. The nursing assistant took the blood so quickly and painlessly, I was impressed . Then today I got the results and an informative telephone consultation with a GP from the surgery.  Very impressed by this level of service and the general kindly attitude of those involved.

  10. Review titled Appointments

    by Elena1981 - Posted on 03 April 2023

Once again contacted the practice, and I have been sent away with the advice to just take some ibuprofen and come back if things get worse. I have very heavy job and I don't have the luxury to take time off to pop over multiple times. Believe it or not. I don't pretend to have medications from NHS at a lower price. Having a prescription for a simple antibiotic to take in case of necessity would have been appreciated. Doctors and nurses are very mindful of their lifestyle and rights. It is all over the news. But I don't think they ever take into account the needs of a patience...all in the name of procedures. Very convenient.

    Review titled Spring Hill Practice

    Replied on 14 April 2023

Dear Elena, I am sorry you have not had a positive experience with Spring Hill Practice. It is not NHS or our practice policy to generally prescribe antibiotics to patients pre-emptively. This is because antibiotic resistance is a global public health challenge, which has been worsened by the overuse of antibiotics. This resistance to antibiotics causes severe infections and complications, longer hospital stays and increased mortality. Overprescribing of antibiotics is also associated with an increased risk of adverse effects, more frequent re-attendance and increased medicalisation of self-limiting conditions. Therefore, it is imperative that we make an assessment at the time of illness to determine if antibiotics are an appropriate treatment. If you would like to discuss this review in more detail please feel free to contact the practice and request to speak with Aga (Deputy Practice Manager) on 0208 806 6993 Mon-Fri between 09:00-17:00 Kind Regards Grant Shine Reception Manager
