my daughter has been throwing up high temperature awful cough and the doctor said for her to rinse her mouth with salt water that will help but there's nothing they can do and if she does not rinse her mouth with salt water it will get worse!!! and you say this to a 10 year old girl that has a phobia with things in her mouth im really disguisted with the quality of health care at this doctors why cant you prescribe anti biotics for a child

Been trying to get through from 08:00 - 09:30 with no joy. Called 08:00 told caller 8 and then after 28 mins told i was caller 4 then 25 mins later still caller 4 but then message came on to say " sorry can not take your call at moment please call back later". Called again to be held in queue of 4 and still nothing after 20 mins. Joke.

This surgery is a joke, can never book an appointment even when it’s the go that has requested you book one. It’s always that you have to call at 8 in the morning for an on the day appointment. So people’s jobs do not allow that and using an emergency on the day appointment for a non emergency just seems wrong. Complete and utter unprofessional and unhelpful surgery

This review covers the combined Shinfield / South reading practice. Getting an appointment at this surgery is always an excercise in frustration. Getting through on the phone is near impossible and you can guarantee that by the time you do get through, there will be no appointments left for the day. You are unable to book appointments for future dates, so the only option is to give up and call again the next day. I was pleased to see that this practice was moving to allowing appointment bookings online, but unfortunatley, it seems to be a lie. In the practice, there are posters advertising this service. If you phone up, you'll get a recorded message telling you that you can book online, but it's just not true. If I go to my online account it says 'you have no upcoming appointments', but when I try and book one, it says 'You have reached the maximum number of upcoming booked appointments at your GP practice.' The only way that I can get an appointment is to walk down to the practice in person in the morning and talk to the receptionist directly. The appointment will almost always be a phone appointment, which is fine in many cases. However, I won't be given a time, or even a window. This means that I must be available to take a call for the whole day until it comes through. In a meeting, on the toilet or otherwise unable to get to the phone? Tough luck, you missed your chance and need to book again. Once I'd spoken with the GP, I needed to go back to the surgery to pick up a form. Luckily, I work from home, so this wasn't a big deal. However, when I got there, the receptionist was unable to print the form due to computer issues. After 20-30 minutes of trying different things, she had to leave the front desk to go to a separate office and ask someone else to print it out. I'm grateful for that receptionist's perseverance and I have a lot of sympathy for both GPs and receptionists who are often overworked and overwhelemed, but the service provided by these practices is simply not good enough.

During call with Receptionist, I kept on coughing, and she reprimanded me for coughing over the call , stating my coughing is causing ache in her ear. Tried explaining that I am putting my phone away while coughing but she wouldn't listen. They lack basic manners. I can name the receptionist here, but naming and shaming won't solve the issue. They need to be given training how to work under stress without losing basic human manners.
