  1. Review titled Great practice but.....

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Putneymead outsource podiatry problems. They give a very poor service, locations are difficult to get to ie orthotics at Lavender Hill/Queen town Rd. They use this as it is a cheap site which hasn't got facilities for disabled - I was on crutches two weeks ago. I can't get an appt with them despite phoning every day. Appalling service.

  2. Review titled Very Professional

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by john joseph flynn - Posted on 16 September 2024

Today I. had an eye exam due to my diabetes. I was seen by a practioner and her trainee. As you know this test is to determine if my diabetes has caused damage to my eyes. A potentially stressful time on my first experience, but I was put at my ease immediately and felt they had all the time I needed whilst at the same time efficiently doing their job and providing the training aspect. I found this very professional, trainee included, and my experience of the procedure was made much easier because of it. Well done.

  3. Review titled Lack experience

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I visited the GP & 3 different doctors saw me and yet didn't diagnosis the problem correctly and infact misguided that I had a wart on my finger. Eventually I had to visit the A&E to discover it wasn't a wart but a pregnancy relayed hormonal issue of tissues growing & have to surgically remove it as it has grown much bigger and the initial diagnosis delayed the process for the correct treatment

  4. Review titled Physician Associate - poor knowledge

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 August 2024

I totally appreciate the NHS is under pressure and I honestly feel for the doctors but the new physician associate system is not the answer. The lady who saw me (re a 3 day headache) didn’t appear to know you really shouldn’t take codeine for 3 days for headaches(because withdrawal = more headaches), had no idea what ibuprofen lysine was and sent me off telling me to drink more and keep a headache diary. I then went to my local pharmacy to pick up a dental prescription and after 30 seconds he told me I had a sinus infection and gave me meds and suggestions for relieving the pain. It’s a bit worrying when a PA can’t spot a sinus infection!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with the service we provide at the Putneymead Group Medical Practice. We are sorry your experience fell below expectation on this occasion. We take all comments very seriously, as they provide valuable opportunities for us to make improvements or to share best practices in the interest of delivering high-quality care to our patients. Physician Associates have been an integral part of the Putneymead clinical team for many years. We have found that their skills and the health outcomes they help achieve are of great benefit to the practice. Please note that all patients are assessed by a GP before being booked with a Physician Associate, and each session is supervised by a dedicated GP. Regarding the points you mentioned about prescribing, we regret that we are unable to investigate fully based on the information provided. However, we encourage you to contact the practice directly so that we can fully investigate the concerns you have raised. You can reach us by visiting our website or by calling the practice to speak with the manager. We hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you for taking the time to offer feedback on the service you received at the Putneymead Group Medical Practice. We are very disappointed to hear that your experience has not been a positive one. We assure you that we will use your feedback to reflect on how we can improve our services. We currently offer a total triage model for appointment requests, where all clinical requests are assessed by a GP and booked accordingly based on the information provided. With this system, all cases are initially responded to within approximately six hours, most much sooner, and urgent cases are generally seen on the same day. Through this we have managed to improve our access with over 90% of our patients requesting any type of appointment being seen within two weeks, and we are working hard to improve this further. You referenced concerns about the medication you have been given. To better support you and investigate your concerns, we strongly encourage you to contact the practice directly. Please do so by calling us or visiting our practice website.

  6. Review titled Phenomenal service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by V Diamond - Posted on 14 February 2024

I have been bowled over by the wonderful service given by Putneymead. I've had to use the new triage system (putting a message on their form on their website) three times in the past month about concerns about an elderly parent. The response back, usually within the hour, has facilitated a face to face appointment on the same day. That's wonderful. Considering all the constant negative news about the NHS and GPs, I find Putneymead goes above and beyond to help their patients whenever they can. Yes, it's a change from the old days when you could ring and get to see the GP you wanted to see when you wanted to see them, but this system seems to be working well, and we, as a family, are so pleased to have Putneymead on our doorstep. Thank you all at Putneymead.

Thank you for offering such positive feedback about your experience with the Putneymead Group Medical Centre and our Student Medical Centre. We regularly review and implement changes based on patient feedback to improve our services. We're pleased to hear that our efforts have positively impacted your experience. We understand your thoughts about the Student Medical Centre opening times. This is something we review regularly to ensure optimum accessibility for all Roehampton students, and we will certainly take your feedback into consideration. As a backup, our main Putneymead site is open from 8am to 6:30pm on weekdays (except bank holidays). Students needing medical support can contact us by phone, online, or by visiting the site from 8am. If a student needs to be seen before the Student Medical Centre opens, we can offer an appointment at our main site, which is a short distance from the university grounds.

  9. Review titled Excellent Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 November 2024

In July-August 2023, I was suffering from long COVID with persistent cough for over a year and contacted Putneymead. Within an hour I got a phone call and my appointment was arranged on the same day. My symptoms were examined, medications prescribed and a further test was arranged in both St. George's and Queen Mary's Hospital. I started taking the medication from the evening of that day and my symptoms were gradually relieved. Now I'm back to normal with no shortness of breath. Doctor's right diagnosis and efficient treatment saved me from this respiratory infection instantly. I couldn't find proper words to express my gratitude to the doctor who treated me and the Putneymead team. Thank You So Much! With All My Heart!
