  1. Review titled Good luck trying to speak or see an actual Gp

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 November 2023

Good luck to anyone if you want to speak or see an actual GP here. This whole year where I have needed to use GP services they either give me a paramedic or a pharmacist. For example, I had extremely dangerously high blood pressure and I was given a paramedic over the phone to speak to. Eventually, after 3 weeks of persistence I saw a nurse. The surgery needs massive improvement and needs to start seeing people again.

  2. Review titled Phone calls dropped

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 August 2023

The surgery has recently started using an app-based phone system, which is dropping calls. You wait all day for a doctor to call, and when you answer, the call is immediately dropped. You then have to call the surgery back and start the process all over again. Staff have acknowledged there's a problem, but nothing is being done about it.

  3. Review titled Mixed bag!!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I've had some great support from this surgery, very supportive and understanding and then I've had issues with getting my prescriptions sorted. My biggest gripe is not actually against the surgery, its the Online Consultation Service (if you can call it that). I had a simple request for some blood tests and med review. I had to answer 126 Questions before I could submit. About 5 before the end it asked if I had ever had a blood clot and when I answered yes it wanted me to go to A&E as if they didn't have enough to do already!! Being able to book online and not clogging up the receptionist phones or waiting for 30 minutes is great. However, it took me about 20 minutes to complete !!! Just appalling. I'm sorry to have to complain about the practices as the are not all bad, but that system is just the worst!

Hi Thank you for your comments. We agree it can be very frustrating at times to access the Practice. We are looking at the system and are just working through some improvements at the moment. There will be patient communication coming out when it is complete. In the meantime if you would like to discuss this with me I would be happy to talk and gain your perspective and maybe you would like to join our PPG (patient group) this helps us get constructive criticism along with what is working well. Kind regards Netty - Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jamie - Posted on 22 February 2023

Probably the worst practice in the area. Very dismissible attitude of staff, and it seems no communication between anyone as you have to explain yourself to a new person every time. If you are not a pensioner they do not care. No sense of urgency or any duty of care. Every person i know who attends this practice is extremely unhappy at the service they provide.

  5. Review titled Rubbish

Rated 1 star out of 5

Ring up, get covid message as if we are still in lockdown. Have to explain your illness, even if personal, to a receptionist after 15 minutes wait in queue on phone. No chance of getting an actual appointment with a doctor. Get 3 hour phone appointment window by text with pharmacy team, they then don't bother phoning in the allotted window. You ring and ask why and told it could be anytime that day, don't know why they bothered with appointment. Go to the toilet without phone as most people do, miss 2 calls within 20 secs of each other, which is 90 mins after promised. Sent text saying you were unavailable and have to start again and ring reception to arrange an appointment. Ring up you are 5th in the queue. I am not actually sure they have any actual doctors working there anymore! Put my name on here to prevent the manager saying she would contact if you were not anonymous, which seems the standard excuse. Looking forward to the rubbish excuse from the manager as per all the others below, there is a reason you are less than 3 stars, do something about it!

Dear Mr Sinnett I am sorry that you did not receive the service you expected. We do offer Face to Face appointments and telephone appointments with out GPs but sometimes it is more appropriate for a different medical professional to help our patients. We have a large team of Pharmacists, Paramedics, Advanced Practitioners, Physician Associates, Nurses etc . If you would like to discuss your experience please do contact the surgery and I would be happy to discuss further with you Yours sincerely Netty Practice Manager

  7. Review titled Excellent Surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Janet Murphy - Posted on 12 October 2022

I have been a patient with Park Road Surgery for 58 years, ever since it was situated in Southwell Park Road. I can honestly state I have never had a truly bad experience with any of the doctors or staff, I have always been treated with kindness and understanding, over the years I have been seen throughout two pregnancies, been referred for operations, been seen through the menopause. For several years now I have received the best care and attention for an adult I look after who has an extreme skin condition. I have always found the reception staff to be extremely obliging and helpful, both on the telephone and in person.

Dear Ms Murphy Thank you so much for the lovely feedback. All too often people complain, so it means so much when someone gives a compliment. I am glad that we have met your needs and I will pass the comment on to the staff team, and this will really help towards boosting morale. Thank you again Kind regards Netty - Practice Manager

  8. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Patricia Turner - Posted on 30 October 2022

My family has been with this practice since 1974. We have always received an excellent service. These days we know only a few of the doctors and I have been relieved that the service remains incredibly good even in such difficult times. This year I have benefitted from referral for surgery, urgent pain relief and treatment for chronic symtoms. All handled promptly and with consideration. My grateful thaks to receptionists, nurses and doctors.

  9. Review titled Poor Management

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 September 2022

Nice, helpful doctors, when you do manage to get an appointment to see them but the booking system is terrible, and getting an appointment outside of working hours is next to impossible. Worse still, are the reception team, who are rude, arrogant and unorganised. I have experienced many failings under their care, incorrect test bookings, lost samples, cancelled appointments to name a few. Astounded by their poor management and overall lack of care. Would not recommend.

Dear Anonymous It is very difficult to respond to anonymous reviews, I would be more than happy to discuss your concerns if you would like to contact me. On a couple of your points, I am sorry that you feel the Practice is poorly managed. Lost samples is at the Frimley Health Lab, not the Practice and due to illness we do occasionally have to move appointments. Once again I apologise that you feel this way. I would encourage patients with concerns to write to myself so that they can be addressed. Kind regards Netty O'Conor Practice Manager Park Road Group Practice

  10. Review titled Extremely Unhelpful Receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2022

Extremely unhappy with the unhelpfulness of the reception staff - wouldn’t even entertain booking me an appointment unless I divulged into my reasoning of needing an appointment. I even stated that it’s not extremely urgent but I would like an appointment booked in to which it was stated ‘well, if you don’t tell me what’s wrong then I won’t be able to help. Or you need to go to hospital’ Since Heatherside Surgery have been under the ‘Park Road Group’ umbrella, the service has been disgraceful.

Dear anonymous I am sorry that you do not like the protocol for our receptionists to enquire about the reason for your call. I am very sorry if they were rude to you. Most surgeries across the country now ask for a brief reason so that they can navigate your appointment to the most appropriate clinician. GP surgeries now have a large profile of clinical professionals working within them and it is the reception team who have been asked by the GPs to ensure the most relevant appointment is booked. Appointments are offered at Park Road, Old Dean or Heatherside. Please feel free to contact the surgery if you would like to discuss this further. Yours sincerely Netty O'Conor Practice Manager
