  1. Review titled Fantastic individualised service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Today I attended my GP practice for an appointment. I felt listened to and received advice on a number of issues, my GP offered sympathetic and carefully carefully considered advice for a complex set of issues. This reflects the fantastic practice and the warm, friendly and compassionate staff. I’ve always felt the staff go above and beyond.

  2. Review titled Astonishing Care and Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

On Tuesday morning I lodged an on line request to Park Medical for an injection and within 14 minutes was booked in for a shot the next morning. Whilst having the shot the nurse (and then doctor) also looked at my leg and suggested I go to Charing Cross to have it checked. By lunchtime, it had been diagnosed (v small fracture), remedied and I was back at work. Extraordinary care and service

  3. Review titled Attentive and involved- excellent care and follow up

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Dale Evans - Posted on 24 March 2024

Very impressed by both my doctor here and the pharmacist. I'm back on a serious illness pathway, spotted by and followed up on by them both. Having been with 6 London surgeries over 30 years I can attest that the care credo at Park medical is the best that I have encountered. Very reassuring and supportive.

  4. Review titled 5 Stars!!!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Peter Hesketh - Posted on 17 December 2023

Met with a member of the pharmacy team about blood pressure readings at a hugely convenient evening appointment. He was so attentive and interested and took lots of to explain things.. After that and out of the blue he began asking about cholesterol levels and family history etc.. and although I’m already on statins he said he wanted to further investigations and referred me for more intensive tests … I was blown that someone took so much patients and time talking and listening and I felt he was genuinely interested in my well being and I wasn’t being just processed as quickly as possible … I cannot recommend this guy enough…

  5. Review titled Helpful service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 December 2023

My GP practice is very helpful. I had an appointment for blood tests. My GP had requested a 7 day blood pressure reading but my BP monitor broke down. My GP was willing to lend me a BP monitor for this period. Thank you so much.

  6. Review titled A Model Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been fortunate to have been under the wing of Park Medical Centre for over a decade. The last couple of years have been particularly difficult for me. My most recent experiences with the practice regarding my health and well being over the past few months have been exceptional. I have not had to wait for an appointment, be that face to face or by telephone. The reception team have a friendly, curteous demeanor and are well knowledged and well organized. The Doctors here are good listeners and always make me feel at ease when talking with them. They have been very good at assessing and explaining my condition and treatment options. I feel involved and confident in the treatment and care they provide and grateful for their ability to arrange these things for me. In terms of a Tripadvisor rating I would give a 5 star recommendation.

Very helpful conversation with the pharmacist today. He had very detailed knowledge of various blood tests done recently and gave me a reassuring explanation of their meaning.

  9. Review titled Really going downhill

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Lish - Posted on 30 October 2023

Some not all of the reception and admin team are really running this practice into the ground. I sent an email on 6/9/23 ago asking for a simple admin request which I was advised would need a GP appointment to action. When I emailed back querying why I would need to waste a GP appointment that could be given to someone who is actually sick for a simple admin request I received a rude one line response back from a receptionist stating that 'we do not provide medical advice, arrange appointments or request letters from the GP via email (my request was for none of the above I simply wanted a incorrect recode of a diagnosis removed from my record). Whats the point of having an admin team if they can't action an admin request and you have to book with a GP? I called this morning at 8am spent an hour holding and couldn't get through to book an appointment and eventually gave up. I called back this afternoon and wanted to book a routine appointment for my admin request as well as check for possible thrush and was told you need to fill out a patches request for admin and that there are no appointments to see the GP today. I advised it wasn't urgent so didn't need an appointment today was just trying to book a routine appointment and advised my internet was down and unable to access patches and was calling as per your website advice on how to book if you cannot access patches which states - To request a routine appointment in the next 14 days: complete a PATCHs on-line request. By providing some brief information we can book you an appropriate appointment in the next 2 weeks. if you find it difficult to use the internet please phone us on, 02087417471 Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm. I was advised you don't book routine appointments so why does it say you do on your website? I was then told by the same receptionist to go to the pharmacy and ask for thrush medication I advised that I think I may have thrush not confirmed and that is why I would like to book to see a GP and have a swab I'm not going to just go to a pharmacy ask for and pay for medication for something that I may or may not have. She then passed me over to the secretary where I had to repeat myself again who then offered for me to come to the surgery to get a urine pot as I advised her urine samples don't check for thrush ( I know this as I work for a GP) so what would be the point of a urine sample? She then offered me a remote appointment @ the hub at Richford gate which I did declined as I'd like to see my own GP. I don't appreciate being fobbed of with incorrect medical advice from a receptionist/secretary who clearly isn't medically trained and only because I know what I'm talking about was I then offered an hub appointment it's not acceptable in general practice. Also not every medical issue needs an on the day appointment routine appointment booking should be an option to all patients. As a patient for over 30 years highly am I'm highly disappointed with todays experience.

Dear Lish, We are sorry to hear you have had a poor experience getting care. You've made a number of points and I'll try to address some but please contact the surgery for parts I can't answer so that we can look at your notes and see who was involved. The "rude one line response" you received is actually an auto reply on email because historically we did try and support some medical requests. As we opened up digital access in the last 2 years, initially with eConsult and then PATCHs, we have stopped doing this because it is inefficient to manage so many different incoming requests. The PATCHs system allow us to communicate more efficiently and safely with patients for the issues where a GP needs to be involved. Every day a doctor goes through all the request to find the best option for an individual and where appropriate arrange investigations before appointments. We do offer the phone and walk in appointments but these tend to be reserved for the on the day appointments for GPs or follow up for ongoing issues. The appointments we offer at the hub at Richford Gate on a Saturday are actually normally staffed by one of the doctors from Park Medical. The advice to speak to a pharmacist is not unreasonable and they are trained to manage conditions like thrush and to identify when safe to treat and when to refer back to the practice. See https://www.boots.com/nhs-services/minorailments (please note many local pharmacies provide this scheme not just Boots). We're sorry about the wrong advice you got about a urine test for thrush. If you can contact us with your details we can work out who was involved and discusss what happened. Either way we will share your complaint and discuss the issues more generally with the team. If you'd like to discuss further please email us at parkmedicalcentrew6@nhs.net Yours sincerely, Dr Robert McLaren, on behalf of all the team at Park Medical Centre
