  1. Review titled Not fit for purpose today!

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Caroline M - Posted on 12 May 2025

It is impossible to book an appointment to see a GP and the online service is consistently full so there is no opportunity to book on line .I rang today and they said that in several weeks time they would send me a link to book an appointment in the future. This is not acceptable .I have been a patient there for over 25 years and it is now impossible to see a doctor. There is no point registering with this practice as you cannot see a doctor.

Dear Caroline We understand your concerns and appreciate you sharing your experience with us. We strive to provide exceptional service to all our patients, and we are sorry that our service did not meet your expectations. We are changing our triage system as currently our urgent appointments are being booked as soon as triage and phone lines open. We do have a waiting list for routine appointment. We have recently employed two additional GP's so we will be able to offer lots more appointments going forward. Kind regards, Helen Conaghan Practice Manager

  2. Review titled Lovely Surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The staff at Park Lane surgery are fantastic. They are all so caring. I have read negative reviews and although it can be tough to get an appointment at busy times, I always manage to get one when needed. I had an appointment yesterday and the GP was amazing. Thank you Park Lane

  3. Review titled Great Service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was contacted by the surgery with a view to making an appointment for an asthma assessment. It was so easy to make the appointment through the link I was sent, and I was seen quickly. I saw a the nurse who was so lovely, she checked me thoroughly, made sure I was using my inhalers correctly, and even informed me of some facts about asthma and the treatment of it that I didn’t know before, and I’ve had mild asthma for 40 years. I didn’t feel rushed and I left feeling like it was a very worthwhile visit. Thank you, I was very impressed with the service I received

  4. Review titled Difficult to contact

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 April 2025

Whilst I like the opportunity to send an e-mail on line with details of what is wrong it has proven impossible to do this. You can now only e-mail from 8am in the morning, if they reach capacity for that day you cannot e-mail again, surely you should be able to send an e-mail at any time during the day for it to be triaged then a possible phone consult this used to happen which saved having to phone at 8am and hang on the phone for hours costing a fortune only to be told there are no appointments. If you are going to have on-line then make it accessible 24 hours a day people who work cannot necessarily log in at 8am and sometimes it is a simple phone consult that is needed.

  5. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Alix - Posted on 12 March 2025

Yet again left with the disappointment of having to speak to 111 and then head to an urgent care centre to wait to see a doctor as it’s impossible to get an appointment at the surgery. Unfortunately this is the 3rd time I’ve tried to get an appointment in 6 months and everytime I’ve had to default to 111 and spend the best part of a day in a waiting room.

  6. Review titled Poor service overall

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 April 2025

It's very difficult to get an appointment. Follow ups are very rare. I couldn't get a follow up appointment for a serious skin complaint. I have another ongoing problem and this has never been followed up. E consult wasn't replied to. I have gone to another surgery.

  7. Review titled Private referral letter requested >2 weeks ago

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 March 2025

Phoned surgery 2 weeks ago to ask for a referral letter to see a private practioner. Was told to apply online and that an appointment may be required, did so. Nothing heard after week one so followed up with a phone call. Was told it will be chased up with the doctor. 2 weeks now passed and still nothing heard. In the past, have never waited longer than 3 days. Something has changed.

  9. Review titled Great GP Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Deborah Meek - Posted on 18 January 2025

So many negative comments/reviews on GP surgeries in general. I cannot find fault with Park Lane. Yes, I may have to go on-line to request an appointment but I have always had someone call me to arrange for me to see a Doctor. The receptionists are all friendly and very approachable. I have also had the pleasure recently of being seen by a Nurse who was so kind, explaining everything to me, not rushing, and making me feel a valued patient. From the office side, I had a call querying a new prescription request. The lady was so polite and kind. I explained that ideally I did need the prescription to take on holiday with me - in 2 days time. She said she would do her very best to get this sorted within the short time scale but could not promise bearing in mind it was a Friday afternoon. On the Saturday morning I went to my local Chemist, with my fingers crossed!, and there was my prescription ready for me to collect in time to take away on my holiday the next day. Thank you!

Dear Mrs Meek Thank you for your review. I agree that there are so many negative comments/reviews in GP surgeries in general, so it was lovely to receive your positive review. The staff at Park Lane Surgery work extremely hard to meet patients’ needs and although it is not always possible to meet the demand for appointments, the staff ensure that they deliver the highest standard of care possible, which includes ensuring patient’s receive their medication when they need it. With kindest regards Helen Conaghan Practice Manager
