    Rang oak at 8-20. Within 20 minutes had response from Dr sorting out and advising on my problem. Now that is how things used to be.

  3. Review titled Non existent care

    Rated 1 star out of 5

    I phoned at about 8.30 this morning. The initial message says that the surgery had "reached capacity". I continued to hold and eventually spoke to a receptionist. She asked my symptoms which basically was persistent back pain. She explained that due to a combination of sickness and holiday they have no medical staff available., and I should go to a treatment centre or contact 111. I was shocked by such a pathetic response. I was concerned that the back pain could be something more serious such as a heart issue but still nothing could be done. The receptionist was clearly embarrassed by the situation . Obviously sickness is an issue in any organisation but holidays should be planned for. I have been with this surgery for 35 years and I am appalled by the deterioration in the service over the past few years. If this was an isolated incident it could be excused but it now seems every contact with Oaks Surgery results in nothing being available. It's bad enough having to make do with telephone appointments instead of face to face. It now seems even telephone appointments are unavailable.

    spoke to reception. Investigation report is now back, and GP may look at it today, or tomorrow. (But my GP not back in for 3 days). No sensitivity of how patient is , and has been suffering, and continues to suffer. Need report looked at as matter of urgency - so can decide correct course of treatment. Need someone to take ownership. A case of reception trying to fob clients off. Not their fault, as I assume they are only doing as trained;

    I phoned up today to get my 4 year old an appointment as she has recently developed eczema, I have tried over the counter creams and nothing is working so phoned my Dr's waited on there stupidly long waiting list for 25 min for the receptionist to tell me they have no appointments and I should go to a walk in clinic I went on to tell her how far away the walk in clinic is away from us so she told me to contact 111 or to go to a pharmacist who will only tell me to contact my Dr's coz I've tried all the over counter medicines I can give a 4 year old, I think it'd disgusting how how things are done now my child is 4 years old and never met her Dr because every time I phone up to get her an appointment if something is wrong they refus to see her and refer us to a walk in clinic or to 111

  10. Review titled Awful practice

    Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Mr Perkins - Posted on 10 April 2024

    Yesterday I dropped off a form to the front desk which needs to be completed to enable me to access treatment. The form is very simple and would take no more than a few minutes to complete, however I called this afternoon to check progress to be informed that it can take up to 28 days! Effectively, this means that I can't be treated and so will have to suffer whilst I wait. Whilst I understand that things don't get done immediately and there are processes to follow, it seems utterly ridiculous to have to wait a month for a simple 5 minute job to be done. The system simply doesn't work and this isn't the first time we (my wife and two children) have struggled to get treatment at Oaks. We all work and having to call between 8 and 10am is impossible for my wife who is a teacher and difficult for me as I start work at 7.30am. I was informed that this system has recently changed so that is possible to call any time, but once capacity for that given day has been exceeded then you'll have to call back again the next day. It's not possible to book an appointment outside of the day you are calling. We rarely visit the doctor and since it changed from Queenwood Surgery to Oaks it's become a real nightmare.
