    I recently visited the surgery for a review of a medical condition. The person doing my review picked up on something I had said and contacted another health professional they suggested a test when the test was completed they spoke to two other health professionals who advised me . My treatment was changed . I am being investigated thoroughly for underlying medical conditions and kept up to date with that is happening. As well as being monitored to ensure my condition is stable. Very thorough I think I spoke with a representative of every profession there expect the midwife. Everyone took time in their very busy day to get me referred and reviewed. 11/ 10 Reception staff also very friendly

    Genuine listening and helpful service - every effort made to give you an on-the-day appointment or phone consultation ASAP. Reception staff are discreet and polite. Doctors don’t rush you out.

    I phoned Alvechurch Medical Centre and spoke to a receptionist. I explained that my child needed a letter from her doctor quite urgently and asked if this was possible. The receptionist was helpful and efficient and assured me that he would contact me once he had messaged the doctor. Within 2 hours I received a text to say that the letter was ready for collection and I then received a follow up call from the receptionist. Thank you to all of the staff (receptionist, doctor and the medical secretary) for this fantastic service. You really went above and beyond and made a stressful time a little easier. We are always too quick to criticise and often to slow to offer our thanks. I hope this goes a little way to redress the balance.

    I have had to make a number of appointments recently and have to commend the very cheery can do attitude of the receptionist at my GP surgery. Im sorry I don’t know your name but thank you for your very kind and positive approach to getting the appointments needed! Thank you!

    I am always able to speak to a receptionist (after the 8.00 rush hour). Am Usually able to get an appointment and they are really flexible with their modes of appointments

    Despite no appointments being available when I tried on the Monday from 8am when the lines open. I called again on the Tuesday morning and received a call back from the Dr before midday. Can’t fault the Drs. Just appointment system needs looking at.

    The PN I met today had such a lovely manner and made me very at ease. My appointment was managed competently and efficiently with good explanations. You might say that this is to be expected but working anywhere in the nhs is not easy at the moment so having the energy to do a good job greatly should be noted. Thank you.

    Having had a recent cancer diagnosis I found the team at Alvechurch absolutely amazing. To a person, they were professional, caring and empathetic. Brilliant - and that really helps at such a difficult time. Thank you.

    The appointment system is a shambles despite getting the texts saying appointments available from 8am - 8 pm. This isn't the reality at all - phone at 8 am wait on the line until 8.40 to be told no appointments and nothing bookable in advance. Even if it's something that one of their staff has screwed up, they make no effort to rectify or give any priority. The doctors are great when you get to see them but the practice administration has really deteriorated and a complete lack of accountability. Unless you're prepared to stand your ground every time in terms of access to services, save yourself the stress and hassle and go elsewhere.

    Dear Patient I am sorry to hear you are not happy with the service we provide. I can assure you everyone within the practice is accountable for their actions. We review the appointment system regularly to see how we can adapt it. We want to make it a better experience for our patients. We have introduced more pre-bookable appointments up-to 2 months in advance. Booking in advance as become really popular as not everyone wants a same day appointment. In one week more than 42 patients pre-booked appointments. We have an open door policy whereby patients can phone and speak to a senior member of the admin team if they wish to raise concerns about the service they have received. Regards Practice Manager
