    Feel lucky to have such a great doctor practitioner. My e-consultation was answered within the hour by a phone call from the doctor who was able to discuss and help me with my medical issue.

    Cannot get anyone to answer the telephone wait time at least 40 minutes plus often message says number five etc in the queue wait for ever on phone often to be cut off at number one in the queue - very stressful for patients - terrible service not receptionists fault shes trying to do her job but the service is appalling - get the feeling as do other patients that they dont want you to ring them and bother them!!

    We are sorry that patients are still experiencing long waits to get through on the 'phone. We met with our 'phone provider this week and they have identified a glitch which may have been causing some of the problems so we hope that waiting times may improve going forward. However, the fact remains that we still have a depleted Reception Team due to ongoing sickness and problems with recruitment, despite a constant recruitment drive. This is something that we share with our colleagues nationally but is non-the-less frustrating to both patients and ourselves. We ask that patients please bear with us during this very difficult period.

    Returned their call to me. Waited 1 hour and 10 minutes...started as No 7 in the queue. How does it take 1 hour and 10 minutes to deal with seven enquiries? Got to No 1 in the queue and was then cut off. Called back immediately and was No 7 in the queue. Had to drive to the surgery to sort out what was a cancelled (by the practice) appointment. Totally unacceptable service.

    So sorry to hear about this dreadful experience. Although this sounds unusually bad we are aware that other patients have had similar difficulties and are in the process of changing our entire telephone system as it is clearly not fit for purpose. Another aspect of the problem is the increase in volume of incoming calls (many calls actually relate to hospital matters) while we've had a recent run of high levels of sickness and difficulties with recruitment. Please accept our apologies for this unreasonable wait and if you would like to discuss this with me please contact the surgery and we can arrange a time to meet. Pat Berriman, Practice Manager

    Rang Grange Practice this afternoon hoping it would be less busy than in the morning. Waited 21 minutes being told I was number 1 in the queue. Decided to abandon and try the Pateley Bridge branch. Waited 10 minutes being told I was number 2 in the queue, then another 20 minutes being told I was number 1 in the queue, whereupon the phone cut off and went dead. Totally unacceptable.

    Dear Janet I was disappointed to read that you'd had problems getting through to the practice on the 'phone. The wait you describe is unacceptable and we certainly aspire to do much better than this. Unfortunately our Reception Team has been depleted of late due to our being unable to recruit to two vacant posts which go back to last Autumn. I'm pleased to say that we have now taken on two new receptionists who are currently undergoing training so we hope that things will improve going forward. I will speak to our telephone provider with regard to your comment about being cut off at the end of a long wait to try to ascertain what happened. Please accept our apologies for this unreasonable wait and if you would like to discuss this with me please contact the surgery and we can arrange a time to meet.     Rang Monday 01.08.22 to gain an appointment. Was no.10 in the queue (no problem because you know the call will be handled soon, unlike national customer service call centres) and after 8-10 mins my call was handled with patience, kindness and superb courtesy - I was given an appointment at a convenient time. Great service - what more can you ask for in these hard pressed times ?

    1. Moving up the queue to speak to anyone is painfully slow. 2. Having made an appointment for someone to call me, I waited for almost two hours but the call never came.

    I'm sorry to hear that getting through to the Practice on the telephone was slow. Unfortunately our Reception Team is not currently at full strength. We have been struggling to recruit into the team since last Autumn, but I'm pleased to say that we now have two new starters so I hope that things will start to improve soon. I'm also sorry to hear that you didn't receive a call for your booked telephone appointment. If you would like to contact the practice again we will be happy to look into this for you.

    Incredibly helpful and courteous. Efficient and, in spite of the strain on the NHS, always manage to fit in an urgent appointment. A medical practice like they used to be but often are not in today's world. Long may it continue!!

    The service offered by this practice is quite simply shocking. To call will usually mean holding for at least 30mins, if you try the online consult (which is often shut due to demand ... speaks volumes itself) you will get a clipped text back that simply demonstrates no time has been taken and no notes have been read. You can't reply and ask for clarity or check comments are correct (which in my case were not!). Even trying to get a referral to go privately is a task!! They say they will get back to you but never do - that will take at least another hour on hold with 2 chasing calls you'll have to make. I don't know what they do with the tax payers money but it's certainly not meeting the health needs of the community.
