Having to initially wait 3 weeks for a face to face appointment I realised that I had to change it due to work commitments, I had to wait another 3 weeks. When I turned up for my rearranged appointment was told it was at an earlier time, I would not have made an appointment during school hours so I know they made a mistake. No-one would see me, even the GP spoke to the receptionist but avoided speaking to me. I was offered another appointment, 3 weeks later!!! I am feeling unwell, why can't I see a doctor within a reasonable time? I pay my taxes surely this is an entitlement? My mental health is suffering because I can't get an appointment with my doctor. Do I have to go to A&E for health concerns to be taken seriously?

I am very sorry to read about your experience, there has certainly been a misunderstanding. Anyone needing urgent attention can have a call back from a clinician on the day. We also have a mental health worker who can usually see people within a short time frame. In the face of ever increasing demand we are trying to shorten the wait for routine appointments. Dr rang then suggested I went I. For same day appointment, was thorough and double checked medication was right for 2 types of infection

I am writing to sing the praises of a particular doctor in The Nidderdale Group Practice. Against the backdrop of a struggling NHS and the impact that has had on GP practices, lack of funding and overworked staff, I had become used to long waiting times for appointments and a short allotted time given when you actually see a doctor. I had come to believe that the lifelong patient doctor relationship as I had known it as a child, where a doctor truly knows you, there is a continuity between you and a feeling of being held, looked after and really listened to was over. When I first saw this doctor I had a condition that had been misdiagnosed for 4 years. Without the correct medication, the symptoms had become unbearable and daily life was miserable. After a thorough examination and questioning, she correctly diagnosed a bad case of Lichten sclerosis. Given the correct medication and follow up at the hospital, my condition has cleared up and is now monitored and I can live a normal life. I feel grateful to have found her. She is a wonderful doctor, thorough, caring and attentive. I feel very safe in her hands and I believe The Nidderdale Group practice is very lucky to have her amongst their staff.

No availability for a face-to-face appointment at any of their practices until 30 January 2024 (it's currently 19 December 2023). The receptionist didn't even ask what was wrong with me.,

Dear Paul, thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to read about your poor experience when contacting our surgery. 6 weeks is certainly much longer than we would hope for and will be offering additional appointments over the next few months to reduce this wait. Had a flu jab. Was reminded by email, given an exact appointment time, arrived two minutes ahead, was seen and jabbed within two minutes.

It was a very quick service and appointment. I saw a lovely kind doctor. Had plenty of time for the patient and I didn’t feel rushed at all. Parking is good and the waiting area lovely.

Very professional well organised caring and patient. Always willing to try to accommodate my difficulties. This includes every aspect of the of the surgery operations. There is an encouraging even cheerful quality from reception onwards. The only problem I experienced is telephone waiting but that is very common these days. Other than that I have the highest regard for the whole practice.
