I recently attended to see a nurse who showed kindness, respect and knowledge. What normally is an unpleasant experience turned into an ok experience because of her skills.

Visited the nurse to provide a blood sample. She went through a whole series of other questions, which resulted in a couple of additional appointments for other symptoms.

Booked in for travel Jan's , the nurse explained everything about the jabs with clarity, have additional advice on keeping safe and healthy when traveling

I contacted the practice just after 9am, I received a call from the doctor within ten minutes and was given an appointment for 11am. I had found a lump in my right breast which was confirmed by the doctor who said that he would refer me to the Chorley Breast Centre for diagnosis. I could not have received better or more considerate care.

Was waiting for a phone call appointment took 2 weeks. Call was arranged for amGot to 3.30 no call went to loo came back missed call. rang doctors to say I had to make another appointment. Absolutely joke you can’t get to see a doctor and when you do they’re not interested. Lots of people in Longton are feeling the same. Disrespectful reception staff who actually forgot they only answer the phone they’re not doctors.

We are sorry that you feel this way as all our doctors and healthcare teams including our patient services team work very hard to continually provide a good service to our patients. We do run a clinical triage system so it is a healthcare professional that triages patient's requests - not the patient services team, and then it is the clinician who allocates the most appropriate appointment with the most appropriate member of our healthcare team. Our patient services team do care navigate and signpost to other services and they have all received the appropriate training in order to be able to do this. Sometimes unavoidable delays in consultations take place which may result in the clinicians having to contact patients later than originally planned and for that we apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please could you contact the practice directly to arrange to discuss the reason for your comments further so we can look into this to ensure our practice is able to provide the services that can meet your needs and expectations. The team at Longton serve a patient population of approximately 10,800 patients and we have a patient participation group who support the practice to continually review and improve our services with the funding and resources available to us. Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to speaking to you directly to take further.

To see or speak to a doctor is extremely difficult. Expected to fill out an online form and you can only do this at 8am. Thats fine, but if you are ill have no body it's very difficult. I really feel for the elderly. There seems to be no community health care from this surgery, instead it's built on what suits them rather than practical situations in the real world.

Whilst we do have the online form for those who are digitally able regardless of their age we do still have our Patient Services Team who are available to take calls as normal who are able to assist our patients. We do offer a community service however we will not always meet the expectations of our patients.
