Wait times were horrendous but no notice of this was given when I signed in. I was seen 35 minutes after my appointment time and then told I could get my prescription downstairs, which took a further 30 minutes. I was then told the prescription hadn't been sent down yet and had to wait a further 25 minutes for this to be done.

Filled in the online form at 8am this morning, easy to complete and was able to give plenty of information. Had a call back at 9.47 offering me a telephone appointment at 11.30am. I can understand frustrations from people who may not be savvy with online systems and those who may be worried about their symptoms just wanting a person to talk to, but for individuals like myself who has a long term condition and knows what I need without requiring a face to face appointment, I think the new appointments/triage system works very well.

Dear Miss Alcock, Thank you for taking the time to submit a review, and for your comments. We are really happy that you had a positive experience in using our new appointment request system, Anima, and that you were satisfied in the response time in offering you an appointment. In response to your comments regarding those who are not savvy with online systems, we would like to provide some clarity and reassurance. We do accept proxy request submissions for those patients who are unable to submit a request themselves. This could be a relative, or trusted friend, who can submit an appointment request on the patients behalf. We also have an Anima submission point within the surgery. This is a tablet which patients can access if they do not have the means at home to submit a request, which is located in the waiting area. If any patients require support using the tablet, we have members of staff who will be more than willing to provide assistance to those who require additional support. We would also like to reassure patients that if neither of the above options suit, our trained call handlers are at the end of the phone to take appointment requests. We have not removed this option, however we would always encourage patients to submit online requests where possible to keep our lines clear for those who have no other choice. First time I’ve used the new Anima appointment system & although it appeared at first to be quite lengthy & stopped at one point ( not sure if it timed out) once I got used to it I found it easy to complete & preferable to waiting on the phone. Also got an appointment same day.

Over the first few days of using our new system we encountered a high volume of patients submitting requests. Therefore we experienced some technical difficulties, and as you have rightly mentioned, the system was running slower than expected. Much prefer the new triage system over the old as now I don’t feel the need to be first in line for the phones on a morning to get a slot. Very easy to use.

Used new on line appointment system at 8.10 am , call back at 10am ..appointment with doc at 4.00pm All staff polite and helpful

The new online system is much better for booking appointments. Way more convenient than calling and sitting on hold. Adding how stressed your condition is making you is helpful too as I think the doctors take this onboard. I filled the form out at 9am and at 11am I was called with an appointment time. Very happy

I have yet to find the medical support section open having tried about fifty times this week. I went online at 4pm on Wednesday 16th April amongst other attempts. It would help if you could explain why it's unavailable and when it can be accessed. I was so looking forward to using it instead of the telephone but so far it's always faded out. Do you have any instructions available as it's a new system and quite confusing for an older patient?

I have been asked by the surgery to book an appointment with them following a recent procedure at the hospital. I have now tried several weeks to book an appointment at 8am or online. With no success, so how am I supposed to get an appointment at this rate. I tried straight at 8am this morning and the first message was all appointments have gone today, so how can I get one! Please advice

I called the surgery to enquire about medication involving my mental health as I could not contact my phycologist. The next day I unexpectedly recieved a phone call from Dr Hobbs at the surgery wanting to help me. It meant everything and the fact it was not something I had asked or even the duty of the gp surgery for me meant I felt so supported. That contact made all the difference in the space I was in and as I said because it was not a requested appointment, simply the team picking up on me needing their help and it helped me beyond words. I know how pushed for time the staff are there and I am so so grateful to the wonderful team at lion health and in particular Dr Hobbs
