Pleasant receptionist, did not wait too long, only 10 mins past appointment time, and nurse was lovely, which helped me to relax

Can’t believe I was seen on the same day as completing an online consultation form. It was my first time as normally I spend hours waiting for a call back when in the queue and then another day before getting a call for an appointment. The dr was lovely and so understanding. However one thing that did happen before I saw her was that I was called into a room by another doctor and nurse. There was another patient with the same name and so when I started talking they were confused as thought I was getting a coil out in. I went back to the waiting room and then my name and surname was called.

Contacted promptly by the Pharmacist and discussed options for reducing or ceasing statin treatment. Way forward and follow up agreed.

I did an e consult, but nobody contacted me about a getting a referral to fracture clinic, which I required for a complex break to my wrist whilst abroad. I self referred to the Virtual fracture clinic at Worthing, and they have been excellent. You ought to have contacted me, even just to signpost me to the correct place for access to treatment

I am appalled at an asthma care plan being sent out in the post. What am I supposed to do with it? Having had asthma since childhood if I don’t know how to manage it now I never will. How patronising. Another piece of paper that could have been emailed. Another letter that need not have been sent. How wasteful. If medication is not effective an appointment to discuss the matter is required. Some of these patient led check ups are not appropriate.

I went to the wrong surgery but was still fitted in with the duty doctor. The doctor was very helpful and also suggested some exercises to help with the problem.

Near impossible to get an appointment, let alone in a reasonable time. I requested a call back due to being #66 in the queue but by the time the call back is received it’s beyond 12:30 and appointments aren’t being taken. Econsult is time consuming, only to tell you to call anyway. Routine appointments “should be within 4-5 weeks” which is terrible.

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I apologise that you had difficulty, in both getting through to us and in obtaining an appointment. I empathise that our phone lines can be busy and can assure you that answering them is our priority with several people assigned to this role. All requests for a GP appointment are triaged by the duty doctor, based on the information given either to the receptionist or via the econsult. If the duty doctor triages your request as routine, this will be added to our waiting list for an appointment. If you do not feel that this meets your needs, you can ask to be triaged again, on a different day. When doing this it is important to try and give as much information as you can to aid the duty doctor in their triaging. Although our message states that a routine appointment should be within 4-5 weeks, in practice this is often sooner. If you have not yet received an appointment, please email me on sxicb-wsx.ltsreception@nhs.net so I can look into this for you. Kind regards Sarah, Deputy Patient Services Manager

Had a phone call on a Saturday afternoon between Christmas and the New Year. Didn’t feel rushed and my prescription was ready to collect later that day.
