I rate all the GPs at Lee Road Surgery highly - I have multiple health conditions, so I've spoken to most of them several times. I had a particularly good appointment with one of the GPs yesterday. He gave me the time to talk through a difficulty I'd had with the NHS sexual health service, which was very valuable to me as my experience at the sexual health clinic has left me feeling quite bewildered - their refusal to remove a contraceptive device that was making me feel very unwell led me to conclude that women have frighteningly little agency in the eyes of some NHS services. So I really appreciated the opportunity to air my grievance and valued his sympathetic response. He also suggested a referral to a NHS sleep clinic for chronic sleep problems. I didn't realise that was an option and so was pleasantly surprised, as I'd assumed pills were all that were available. Many thanks to the Lee Road surgery team.

Called this evening at 4:21 as urgently needed to speak to a doctor, after having surgery by my eye 6.5 weeks ago, looks and felt infected. The reception said doctor will call you and we close at 6:30, needless to say this was not logged, when I called back at 6.10 it was the same person, she said she couldn’t see me on list but then said yes found you when I started having a rant. Doctor called me in 5 mins and confirmed they had only just been passed my details. Works out I have an infection and needed to start antibiotics straight away, stressful as chemists were closing 🤬 Poor service from receptionist. Sasha Courtney

I'm sorry to hear about the frustrating experience you had with the receptionist when you urgently needed to speak to a doctor regarding a potential infection after your eye surgery. It sounds like the situation caused a lot of stress and inconvenience, especially given the urgency of starting antibiotics. This has been discussed with the receptionist concerned and they have apologised for their mistake. Receptionists play a crucial role in ensuring patients receive timely care and support, and it's disappointing to hear that this wasn’t the case. I'm relieved to hear that you were able to speak to the doctor promptly once your details were passed along, and that you're now receiving the necessary treatment for your infection. I had a cervical screening at the practice today . The nurse was friendly quick efficient, and the experience was free of any discomfort. I have often felt in the past. Thank you, nurse j for your care and consideration. I would recommend any woman in the local area apprehensive about cervical screening to ask for nurse j. I hope she is teaching others about her best practices.

I have been with practice for 30 years I have always been treated with a smile at reception always ready to help and the doctors are so good I would not ever leave I would recommend the practice to anyone

I always come away from my appointments feeling like I've had the most amazing service ever. Our GPS at Lee Road Surgery work so hard for us, we are so lucky to have such a great team. I have, unfortunately, come across several surgeries recently where the patient and their welfare get forgotten.
