    Phoned up at 08:00 by the end of the phone call had an appointment at 08:30 the same day. Great service.

    The service at our practice is dreadful. Appointments are impossible to get over the phone / online so I used the Anima 3 day service instead. I did get a text reply within 3 days but it took another 2 weeks before I managed to get a F2F appointment with a GP to discuss my condition. This resulted in a cancer referral. I received a letter confirming my referral after a week and a half, but then received a second letter another week later to say I was on the waiting list for outpatients and that the wait for an appointments was 6-9 months. I then tried to go back to my GP to discuss the referral. It took another 6 days before I managed to get to see the GP again and she arranged another cancer referral for me. It has so far taken over a month to get an effective referral from my GP for suspected cancer. I am now waiting for another referral letter to come through before I will know if the referral is actually in place. I also believe that the current waiting time for cancer appointments is 28 days so I am likely to wait another month at least before I get seen and even longer before I get assessed and diagnosed. As well as the long waiting times for appointments and referrals I wanted to comment on the reception staff at St Mary’s who were extremely rude to a number of patients attending the surgery. I had to wait for 40 minutes to see the GP on one accession and was sat immediately in front of reception for the duration. I was shocked and appalled at how rude staff were to patients coming in. They typically ignored people waiting at the desk and we’re either just staring at the computer or on this occasion we’re chatting for a long time about lunch breaks and a door that wasn’t working while the patient (who was clearly upset) stood waiting (as if they were invisible!). I felt this was disrespectful and also that it showed no care or compassion for the young lady who was waiting and clearly upset / worried. I think the issue among the reception staff at Lakeside is a cultural one and that this has got a lot worse post Covid. While not all interactions with reception staff are bad the culture is not one of compassion or caring. This makes the whole experience of dealing with the surgery unpleasant. I hope this review helps provide some valuable feedback.

    Good communication but far too hot in surgery.awoulf recommend friends.Staff friendly and helpful.prefer st Mary's surgery to ryhal road surgery.Clean and tidy.Not waiting long.

    I refuse to comment because my GP is great but your practise is awful. I use email to communicate because the phone keyboard is too small. But whilst you will email me a code you do not allow me to use email. Nor speak or contact my own GP. I am a recent liver transplant patient and I phoned asking for an urgent appointment with my GP and was told she has two tomorrow but you can’t have either because you have to get in the queue tomorrow. Phone is useless at 8am and one site often takes calls before the other. I am in recovery and my wife had to queue at 7am to get me an appointment. You deflect patients who ask for an urgent appointment by saying ring 111 or 999. It’s a mess

    I was given an appointment immediately. The doctor rang me at home and arranged medication and provided excellent advice which has proved very helpful. This medication has helped clear my problem.

    I found a suitable appointment slot on the online system. I was seen on time. The doctor arranged future appointments for me. For which I have had dates through already. I am happy with the service I received

    I was seen within 10 mins of my actual appointment, which, I believe was because it was at the St Mary’s practice rather than at the Sheepmarket site. Fewer people meaning fewer distractions for the reception staff. The GP was apologetic for the slight delay and was very thorough in the diagnosis of my illness, explaining her actions as she carried them out
