  1. Review titled Great practise

Also manage to get an appointment and have always got good support and advice from the doctors. Quick and efficient. Some of the doctors went above and beyond to sort out issues which turned out to be thyroid problems. Been with kildonan for 2 decades now and very happy with the practise.

  2. Review titled Understanding and lovely.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been a patient at Kildonan since I was a child. 5 years ago I lost my sight and was diagnosed with a rare disease call Tolosa-Hunt Syndrome. All the staff have been kind, understanding, (at times bewildered, as have I) . One in a million ways in the world have this disease, so it was difficult to diagnosise. After over 15 MRI scans and a lumbar puncture and test after test after test, they found it. The medication socks, but helps with the symptoms. Thank you.

  4. Review titled Great Practice

I thought I should leave this review as all others seem negative. Sure, it can take a few tries to get through but that's due to pure volume of calls. I've always managed to get an appointment based on urgency- either same day or a week later for non-urgent in the hope symptoms resolve (which they did do and the appt was cancelled). Prescriptions ready when requested and forms such as sick notes completed promptly. Helpful explaining the online service too. The staff including receptionist, nurses and doctors all professional in my experiance. I've had a few issues with gdpa regards the pharmacy- giving out the wrong medication and not listening to the address when asked but they are separate from the surgery and hopefully take the matter seriously.

  5. Review titled What Practice?

Rated 1 star out of 5

I recently had an appointment at the diabetic clinic, in the past I have had Bloods checked, BP checked and Weight, this time it was blood test , which took forever (dont think the needle was in the vein properly) then passed through to nurse who looked at my records and decided I didnt need a BP check because I had already had one sometime in the past, no question about my weight, then today I get a request via text asking me for my weight for practice records??? Also what is happening to the regular staff who appear to be jumping ship, the practice appears to have lost of good caring nurses etc and its so sad and worrying

  6. Review titled Reception rude and unqualified

Rated 1 star out of 5

Most of the receptionists I have dealt with have been very helpful, sympathetic and apologetic when mistakes have been made by the surgery. Unfortunately they are let down by one young receptionists who clearly has no medical terminology experience or empathy towards patients!! People who call the surgery are either ill themselves or calling about someone who is ill, whether that be mental or physical. They need to be spoken to with respect and empathy! I am utterly shocked that this young lady is still working for this practice and she is letting all the other staff down. She talks down to patients, talks over you, is completely unhelpful, refused to pass me on to the practice manager or office manager, told the nurse was too busy to speak to me so I had to insist on a call back. This could have been resolved quickly and easily with an apology and some understanding, I did not expect to be talked down to and told I was causing ‘hassle’ because my child couldn’t have his 12 week immunisations on time and has to wait 5 weeks longer all because I was told by the surgery that they make the appointments only to ring and chase this to then be told I should have made it myself and because I didn’t they now couldn’t fit me in any earlier! Receptionist needs training on how to communicate appropriately to patients, what a shame she lets down the other receptionists who are excellent!

  8. Review titled Literally impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

Still no "routine appointments" because of covid, which is just an excuse at this point. You call up to book an appointment, there's never any left. You use the app, it says you can't book any. You try the website, there's none left. You try the new booking service and you need a login, which you need an appointment with them to receive, which they don't have any of.... It is literally impossible to see a doctor here, to the point that my last 3 visits have had to be to urgent care centres via 111 referrals as it is the only way to actually see someone. There's no point in this surgery even existing, they can't provide any services to you.

When we moved here we were really worried about joining this practice due to negative reviews. All I can say is that the reception staff. nurses and doctors have all been kind and helpful whenever we have contacted the practice.

  10. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

My daughter had been complaining of severe earache from two in the morning. I phoned and the duty doctor returned my call 5 minutes later and asked for her to be taken down for an appointment 30 mins later. When we arrived, we waited for quite a long time. When I asked the receptionist, she explained that the duty doctor was dealing with a medical emergency and was very apologetic. We were seen approximately 30 mins late and on seeing on the doctor, were again given an apology. She checked my daughter over thoroughly and prescribed her medication which has sorted the problem out. I have no issue with the practice and feel that you should treat people how you would like to be treated yourself. My experience at the practice has always been good and I have attended for 42 years.
