  1. Review titled appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

Phone constantly either no appointments have been released or 5 mins later after waiting in a que 4 times all appointments have gone. The doctor requested me to see her a month from my last appointment but I have no idea how to do this as i keep doing as the reception say, calling after 5. How is this system fare. At least if someone calls after 5 give options for a call back as soon as released so everyone has a chance. Very frustrating it just the look of the draw and not based on anything else. If someone could get back to me and tell me how I get to see my doctor I would be very greatful.

  2. Review titled Ridiculous appointment system

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been trying to get an appointment for 2 weeks. Phoned multiple times each day when advised by receptionist. Every time I am no. 17 in the queue. Coincidence? When I eventually get through all appointments have gone. Very frustrating.

  3. Review titled Great new Triage system

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Bob Wilson - Posted on 04 April 2024

Needed to see a doctor today as I have severe knee and back pain. I was all ready for the hassle of ringing up and being on hold ages. However a new system is in place. An online Triage system. It worked really well. I filled in my details, was contacted by txt for more information, which I provided and was given an appointment for the afternoon. So all worked really well. A vast improvement.

  4. Review titled Awful advise from both receptionist and triage

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Daughter is 3 months old with conjunctivitis, receptionist referred me to triage self referral page for same day apt. Triage advised that my baby should go to the opticians which I managed to get a same day apt. Opticians reviewed her but due to being under 2 which I mentioned to both receptionist and triage I can only get a prescription from GP. If the staff had just done their job and actually listen to what I was telling them my daughter could have started treatment today instead of waiting another day with a gunky eye that’s just getting worse! And for someone with a 3 month old I am busy every day so not really got time to be palmed off here there and everywhere! Maybe the doctors could take a leaf out of the opticians book as they didn’t have any appointments but still asked for me to come in and get her checked as they didn’t want me to be waiting too long! I think the doctors should learn their own guidelines before sending people off to places where they’re not going to get the help they need.

  5. Review titled Continues to improve post COVID problems.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Sue Simpson - Posted on 06 March 2024

Getting through to the Practice to speak to a member of staff has improved remarkably. But it’s still problematic obtaining a GP appointment. The procedure of filling in details of your health conditions is extremely long winded and very time consuming if you live alone and are feeling unwell. The staff are helpful with filling in the requirements requested but, when asking for pictures to be sent of the problem area which is only palpable is questionable and very difficult if you live alone. The Dr I saw on the day in question was remarkable. Kindness, professional, and attentive to detail towards me was unquestionable. The time factor was not an issues and I felt relaxed and not rushed with the approach that was taken. The Practice is very lucky to have this member of staff. More Drs like this are needed in general practice.

  7. Review titled Atrocious routine appointment system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Patricia Hann - Posted on 19 February 2024

I rang the surgery at 8am in response to a request by the surgery to make an appointment. Told to ring 11am so rang 11.02hrs by the time I got through appointments all gone. Told to ring at 3pm rang at 14.56hrs told rang too early. Rang again at 14.59hrd and after 196 attempts eventually got through and again all the routine appointments had gone. I’m supposed to try again tomorrow and every day until I eventually get ‘lucky’. This system is completely dysfunctional and not fit for purpose. Absolutely disgusting.

Great experience today from ringing reception and there being no queue on the phone, and she was friendly and extremely helpful to the great triage process and an appointment made to see a lovely doctor this afternoon all done within 2 hrs. Pleasant and helpful. So efficient. Very supportive.

  9. Review titled unacceptable appointment system

Rated 1 star out of 5

I phoned five times trying to make an appointment. I was told no appoinments had yet been 'released' and the fifth time (less than an hour after the fourth attempt) that all apointments had 'gone'. It seems that available appointment times and dates are made available ('released') at unpredictable times , and are then quickly snapped up by those lucky to phone at the right time. This is unacceptable. It is a failure to serve the public. One feels one is kept dancing on a string at their pleasure. It is stressful and humiliating, especially for someone feeling ill and needing a doctor. I've been a patient here for 37 years and it used to be good. This apppintment system is a failure and needs changing.

  10. Review titled Bad Communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 December 2023

I rang up to check whether an appointment made by a text message was a face-to-face appointment or a phone call as it did not specify on the message. I rang the surgery up to check within minutes and they said they needed to check and told me it was a phone call appointment. Over an hour later I still hadn’t had a phone call and rang the surgery up to check. They told me it was a face-to-face appointment, even though I told them I had rang earlier on to be told differently. The admin made out there was nothing in the “notes” and made out I should have assumed it was a face-to-face. I now have to go through the whole triage system again in the afternoon- hoping I can get another appointment because of their bad communication and lack of accountability in just admitting they’d got it wrong and apologise.
