Great doctors but sadly useless reception, who don't seem to pick up the phone and often aren't helpful or friendly when you do get through or meet in-person. No online appointment booking system. Only chance of appt is ringing at 8am on the day when even then often all appts are gone. Expect to wait 30-60min on hold, whatever the time. Sometimes the call unexpectedly drops or no-one picks up. After five years of it getting worse, including a referral that vanished and a general lack of follow-up, but mostly because of just how time-consuming it is to arrange time with a doctor or have a query answered, I have decided to look for an alternative GP. Such a shame as every doctor I’ve seen there has been really great - no complaints there whatsoever.

I needed help urgently from the admin team, and they were able to help me straight away with what I needed. Thank you so much. Reception staff are always so kind and helpful, really appreciated. Thank you all.

I needed to collect a form; it was quite late in the evening, and they went the extra mile to get it printed so I could take it with me.

Have no online appointment request system. Have to ring and get in a queue (if you are lucky) otherwise even worse ... you will keep ringing atleast a 100 times and no luck. Very stressful appointment system. For someone who is on the school run it is not practical to keep ringing and also drive the car in the morning. Appalling that they have removed online accurx appointment requesting. I will be leaving this practice soon and work as a GP myself.

I have injured my leg recently and I had to take a week of work off, I've tried calling to ask for a doctors note to extend for 1 more week as the swelling and pain has only decreased slightly. I had to then go into work for 1 day getting myself a taxi as i was unable to put my clutch down to drive. I was informed to call back "tomorrow at 8am" well here I am calling at 8 am and saying that the lines are busy and not open, I've tried getting through to option 1, 4, 6 and holding the line. At 8:16am I was then able to get through and placed in a queue, I was 30th! I have screwed shots of me trying to reach the surgery since 8am, this is awful service. I work 6:30am till late afternoon so calling the surgery gets difficult during work hours. You are on hold for 40 mins if not longer to just get to speak to someone. Econsult forms online are also waste of time. You fill one out and get a response 2 weeks later. This surgery was definitely better managed before the pandemic and now patient care is at 0. The Dr are pleasant and you can ask them questions but not always do I receive the answers I'm looking for, "I don't know why you're having these symptoms" is not something I like to hear from a Dr and without further assessments as well. Disappointed.

I have contacted the Practice via a eConsultation for my daughter. I have received a call back very quickly from the Practice Nurse who was very caring , kind and very professional.I was asked that my daughter attends face to face which she did and received a good care and was looked very well after. I am very grateful and thankful to all members of the staff who attended and cared for my daughter today.

I have attended diabetes clinic in both June and July and been seen by the same practitioner who has been excellent. She takes care to explain the issue at hand, made suggestions that no one else has and pays attention to detail, which translates as ensuring that I understand the detail concerned with my ongoing care and has explained options clearly. I am also hard of hearing and time is taken to ensure I fully grasp what is being conveyed, so this is also appreciated. Thank you.

I submitted an online Econsult a week ago and received a text to say a doctor would call me between 8am-1pm today but as of now, I'm still waiting for the call. I have now been on hold with the surgery for 20 minutes to try and find out what's happening. Up until a few years ago, Handsworth has always been amazing but it's becoming more and more impossible to see a doctor face to face and now to even get a telephone appointment. Extremely frustrating and quite stressful having to deal with this!

I have recently been speaking to a GP at the practice in relation to my daughter's eczema. This GP has been extremely helpful and together we are working towards managing the condition, which is so far working. She was very sympathetic to my concerns and i felt really at ease talking to her. She was not dismissive at all, which i have had in the past. Thank you!
