After having to complain here only a week ago i finally managed to get my partner an appointment but now it appears to be my turn. after visiting the nurse for a routine appointment last week i explained i really need to see a doctor to discuss some other issues. the nurse was incredibly helpful and got me an appointment but unfortunately a message came through and it falls on the day i am having breast cancer surgery. so here i am again calling your surgery, i cancel my appointment to then be told there are no appointments next week so to call back the following week. the receptionist yet again very unfriendly and getting extremely frustrated and annoyed with me. your website and answerphone both state you can book appointments online, not possible when i ask why this is not possible, i am told to call back and someone else can maybe help me next week. just another week of wasting peoples time to sit on never ending phone calls leading to no appointments and being asked to call back. once again upset and frustrated with this terrible system. weeks and months ago by just trying to get through to you. this surgery fails miserably with their booking system. the only thing i will add was the nurse was amazing when i saw her last week.

i have been with this surgery 2 years, both my partner and I are still yet to meet a doctor. i have called and sat on the phone line so many times. my partner is in terrible pain and has been to an osteopath as no joy with seeing any doctor here. he has now been referred for pain relief but again i was told to call back next week or book online, your online booking system doesn’t work. your surgery never has appointments and sometimes never bothers to call back when we have requested. now just very stressed, angry, tired and upset with this. it’s disgraceful. I have just been diagnosed with breast cancer thank god the hospital and nurses have been amazing, but this surgery needs reporting. you need a better system, I wish I had never left my previous surgery, we had to as we moved to the area.

Have no issue with my GP but try and get an appointment is an absolutely nightmare I got a text from my GP requesting to book an appointment following a referral. Phoned reception explained that I was responding to a text for an appointment - was told no appointments today and call back tomorrow. I said that I wanted a routine appointment with my GP as requested by the GP’s text - was told that they could not book any appointments as their planners were not showing bookings for more than 2 days ahead. Receptionists need to be trained in how to be helpful rather than shutting the patient down with negativity.

I had to book a appt with the Handsworth surgery. I found the process very stressful. When you do finally get through to reception after hanging on for an exceptionally long period you are met with a very negative experience. The receptionists sole purpose seems to be to Not offer you an appointment. They ask questions which I feel are posed to ‘trip you up’ & make you feel your request for an appt is unreasonable. God help those with learning disabilities or the elderly. You can never book an appt in the future as they say their diaries are not accessible for appts other than the day you have called on. Is this really true practice manager? If so you need to rethink this process as it is extremely unhelpful for the people you are meant to be serving - the patients - remember them?

This Practice needs urgently looking into as it is impossible to get a face to face appointment. If you get lucky & can get through calling at 8am before they close the lines, then after waiting ages (and I mean ages) you might get lucky again if they don't cut you off you might then get offered a call back from a Dr who after waiting all day may call or maybe not. Repeat cycle. Reception refused to book an appointment for my elderly mother despite her being in the surgery to see the Nurse who told her she needed to see the Dr. This was on a Friday and she was told to ring back at 8am on Monday. Awful 'care'. My elderly parents do not have the stamina to ring first thing in the morning and wait for ages in a line to (maybe) get through. So what do they do? As a family we can try to get an appointment on their behalf but what about those who don't have people looking after them? And they are taking on new patients ...

Just dreadful. I have been trying to make contact with a doctor for several days about a medication I am taking. Can't get through on the phone. Cant book even a tel call online. Accurx not working. I note more than a hundred reviews one star. Practice doesn't respond to reviews or seem to care. I used to work at this practice years ago and it was one of the best in Waltham forest. Now one of the worst. Ridiculous to still be unable to book ftf appointments,all telephone if you can even get one of those. I've not been seen once face to face in the past five years. Never met any of the doctors. Nobody cares.

I received a text to make an appointment for My 83yr old mother who has hard of hearing to discuss results from recent tests. I contacted the surgery to make an appointment and was told that no pre bookable appointments were available with a female doctor, and that I should call back on the day to get an appointment. I called on 2 consecutive days and was over 30 in a queue, as I was at work I requested a call back. I was contacted and advised there were no available appointments and offered a telephone call between 8am-6pm with a Dr in 2 weeks time from the date I called. I explained that my Mother was hard of hearing and found it difficult to hear on the phone. I asked if they could call me instead but was told that this was not possible but I could be present during the call although no specific time of the call could be offered. I explained that we can be flexible regarding an face to face appointment so I really do not understand as to why a pre bookable appointment cannot be made in these circumstances. A telephone call with an elderly woman who is hard of hearing is a complete waste of the Dr's time and ours!!!

can I just say a huge thank you to the Dr for seeing my mum today on 21/10/24 he is an amazing Doctor and credit Handsworth , he listened he was patient with my mum listen to me about my mum and I can’t thank him highly enough. Thank you again !!

I'm very disappointed with Handsworth Medical Centre. Getting an appointment is almost impossible. I call right at 8 a.m., but by 8:15, all the slots are already taken. Even when I opt for a callback while on the waiting list, it can take over half an hour, and by the time the receptionist finally calls back, there are no appointments left, and I’m told to try again the next day at 8. The receptionist is extremely rude, speaks with very low energy, and is unhelpful. He even hung up on me during a call. The management really needs to upgrade both their appointment system and the attitude of their staff.

Having always found this practice amazing I am really disappointed with my current experience. I'm now on third day of being on hold only to eventually be told all appointments gone and to call back Monday (can't prebook an appointment). It's a ridiculous system and, quite honestly, the fact that there is no response to these reviews (good or bad) tells me how much they care what we think!
