    I have recently been speaking to a GP at the practice in relation to my daughter's eczema. This GP has been extremely helpful and together we are working towards managing the condition, which is so far working. She was very sympathetic to my concerns and i felt really at ease talking to her. She was not dismissive at all, which i have had in the past. Thank you!

    In the last month I have had to use the GP surgery twice after many years of not having to. In both situations I was dealt with quickly, professionally and efficiently. I am so impressed- especially in the current climate. I know I can’t name individuals but from the reception team who triaged me to the nurse practitioner who dealt to my initial complaint and treated me professionally and kindly to the E consultation contact I had to do on the second issue- which was dealt with on the same day with care, professionalism and kindness again by the GP. I just wanted to thank the staff/ team at the surgery who are doing a brilliant job in an incredibly difficult climate.

  3. Review titled Need to call 400+ times and still can't get through

    I have tried calling my GP over 400+ times this morning and the line is busy throughout. I don't even get through the Automate voice system. I have been on the phone since 8am this morning till 8:30am now and been trying the line for 431 times and still haven't managed to get through. I called 111 service last night as my toddler son has a very high temperature and was advised I'll get an appointment this morning at my local GP. As no one has come back to me yet I tried calling the GP myself and have failed to even get through the phone line as it keeps saying its busy. Appreciate the lines are busy but do I need to keep ringing that many times. It's shocking!

    I have been waiting for an econsult call back since Thursday, I have not heard so called this afteernoon, I have and still are on hold 1 hour and 33 minutes later. no other way of getting through to anyone. I have never had an issue with Handsworth but this last few months have been a nightmare to even get through to speak to someone.

    I have been with this practice since it was opened in Handsworth Avenue and have always, without exception, been treated with the utmost respect, care and patience. Seeing the Nurse today I was able to deal with not only the check ups I had booked in for but several other small worries, an appointment was made, advice and reassurance was given, as well as promise of follow ups. Whenever I have rung I have been able to get an appointment or a call back has been booked and this has followed promptly. Although I often have to hang on for a long time the Receptionist always answers and deals with my query as if I was the first to call that day. Well done any thanks to everyone there.

    I phoned up very poorly looking for a call back from a nurse or doctor. I was on hold for a long amount of time before finally being connected at 9.00am. Eventually, i got through to be told no one can help at the surgery too busy no appointments. The advise was call 111. 111 line was down at random. I asked if the receptionist could look at my medical records to see how i was treated last time with the same illness, it was all too much effort for the lady she made that very clear huffing. The receptionist on the phone was both blunt and rude. When I asked her name she responded with "why" in a very nasty tone. I replied with "I would like to make a complaint, how rude you have been" Sarcastically the lady gave me an email address to complain with and put the phone down. Even though I said I didn't need the email address - I could Google it myself. When people feel vulnerable and unwell this is not the care you expect. It wasn't what I was told it was how I was told. The tone in which I was spoken. If the NHS is busy and there are no appointments that's one thing. The issue is with being so dismissive and unhelpful. I begged for help to be told "no" 111 helped me, called the medical practice. Booked me in an emergency call back with a doctor. The helpful lady at 111 said my doctors should not of told me or advised i call 111 as they have been informed 111 have no systems and not active. I am so thankful the lady at 111 went the extra mile for me.

    So I booked a appointment via Econsult to get an appointment with the doctor on Tuesday. I called this morning to double check I was getting a call from the doctor and was told I will get a call shortly. I called back at 5pm only to be told by the receptionist that the case was passed to the doctor yesterday and that if I don't get a call back today, call back at 8am Monday morning. This is not good service and unacceptable.

    I phoned the surgery just has it was closing. I spoke to the receptionist who listened to my concerns who got the Doctor to phone me back very quickly. I was asked to come to the surgery and was seen at reception. The ladies were helpful and explained what l needed to do. The Doctor was able to sort out medication for me that evening. I felt this was a really good service.
