  1. Review titled Awful system, impossible to get paediatric appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 March 2024

I used to highly rate the groves however since the new booking system it has rapidly declined and so have the reception staff. I have a child (under 1) who I have been unable to get an appointment for since before Christmas. These appointments will be for various reasons. I call on the morning to get an appointment and by the time my call is answered they’re gone. We have had to use A&E and out of hours GP’s to be seen as the groves cannot/will not help. It has now come to light this is because the new booking system triages adults but not children. So for the children’s appointments you have to book on the morning and hope that by the time they answer all the appointments haven’t gone. We are really considering changing GP’s

  2. Review titled Outstanding care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Really excellent care and support, with several follow up calls and face-to-face appointments over getting me on the right medication. Very thorough and efficient feedback on extensive blood tests. Have used this surgery since 1984 and to me it goes from strength to strength.

  3. Review titled Terrible booking system

Rated 1 star out of 5

The receptionist said she can only help me with filling out the online form if I’m blind. I have a learning disability and cannot read or cope with online question options this is too stressful for me. I don’t feel safe putting my personal medical information on line or asking my carer to do this when only the doctor should have this. She told me to go to ring 999 or go to A and E. My mum has filled this out for me.

  4. Review titled Asthma Review

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Recently I was having a bad experience with my asthma cough and the service I received was very quick and supportive. I would recommend the asthma support service to anyone managing their asthma.

  5. Review titled Worsening service with online booking

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Second time trying to get an appt and second time the answer is there are none. What really is the point in me going thru the rigmarole if there never were any appointments and why are there no appointments? Last time I got a message that they tried to phone me and that was that. So when does an online booking become a telephone system? It was never easy on the phone but I preferred it to this.

  6. Review titled Becoming increasingly system lead

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Tina - Posted on 12 February 2024

The surgery seems to be keeping its clients more and more at arms length. Triaged by a bot that has sent me to A&E twice in the 4 times I’ve used the new system. I’ve been trying to get test results but have never been anything less than 11th in the queue. I’ve just hung on the phone for 70 minutes trying to get the results which I’m told I have to repeat. Receptionist’s constantly say the delay is because they’re so busy. If they’re always busy then something needs to be done to address that

  7. Review titled Impossible to get hold of anyone

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 February 2024

I have tried to call the surgery twice in the past week. The first time was to cancel an appointment they had rearranged for me without telling me after they cancelled the original one at an hour's notice. I was 23rd in the queue when I phoned so it was easier to go to the surgery and speak to reception. The second time was to get some test results. I was number 10 in the queue when I started and was still number 10 in the queue after 15 minutes. This surgery is utterly hopeless, avoid at all costs.

  8. Review titled Awful place

Rated 1 star out of 5

Slow and unresponsive. Takes at least an hour to get through to them on the phone (I need to book an appointment to discuss test results, this can not be done on their god forsaken triage online tool).

The new system to book appointments it’s awful. Impossible to get appointments on line, at the reception and by telephone. The telephone is answered after ages waiting without any positive result. Impossible to get appointments face to face. Used to be a good Surgery not anymore.

  10. Review titled Previously good now abysmal

Rated 1 star out of 5

The new triage system is an absolute joke. I needed an urgent medication review after being prescribed new medication. I tried for nearly an hour to fill it in online to no avail so called reception, with an hour on hold, and they went through it with me. I then wasted a receptionists time for nearly 20 minutes only to be told I should to go to A&E - all I needed was a phone call to discuss what the dosage should be increased to. I finally managed to get an appointment the next day, and have been told I need to book another appointment in 3 weeks time so presumably I will have to go through the same ridiculous procedure again, as there is no box that says 'Dr recommends further review of medication in x days' After discharge from intensive care unit in October at my local hospital I have already had 18 outpatient hospital appointments and yet have to fight to get one with my GP. Whoever approved this inflexible and flawed triage system is to my mind sadly lacking in common sense.
