Short delay on busy Monday morning at 8.15 getting into phone queue. Thereafter service was very good. Telephone consultation with GP that afternoon followed by surgery consultation on Tuesday afternoon. On time, thorough and pleased with outcome.

Medical care is very good if you can get an appointment during the 8am dash as they refuse to organise even non-urgent appointments at any other time. It says in the foyer "Patient Centered" - it's not it's practice centered.

e consults that you either wait 24 hours before an appt is made or you get phone call 4.45pm and get told by reception to go a and e for ear pain/problems - no need to for a and e. just need to check no perforation/lump of wax or just a prescription for infection from my gp/anp. you ring 8am only for 100+ times to ring and half the time no appointments left.

Hi Apologies you feel the current services are not up to your expectations we hope to continue to improve this for you. In regard to E-Consults the national framework states that 'Clinical eConsults have a response time of 'the end of the next working day' by default whilst administrative eConsults have a 'within 3 working days' response time frame.' and this is what our practice delivers. Once our appointments are at capacity our reception team navigate patients to the alternatives available for issues that cannot wait. In your case reception were advising you of the options available if the problem was needing urgent attention. Like all practices 8am is a bad time for our practice and the limited number of lines makes this difficult, we are however looking to move to a new cloud based phone system which should resolve a number of these issues. Many thanks for your feedback.

  5. Review titled Appointment system needs Improving

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I had a problem which did not require urgent treatment, but did not want to use the 8am phone dash to make an appointment, which I think should be left for those who urgently require a GP apptmt. E consult wasn’t working… or at least at 8am every day for a week, wouldn’t allow me to make a consultation. So I ended using up 111, which led to a pharmacists consultation, then an out of hours apptmt, which eventually led to a GP consultation. To my mind, this wasted the time of the pharmacist, the out of hours GP, and, of course, my time. All of this took 2 months, from beginning to end. Surely there should be a process of making an appointment, in advance with the practice. Once you get to see a member of the medical staff, I have no problems with the surgery…… it is just the time it takes for this to happen.

Many thanks for your constructive feedback. Recently we have adapted our appointment system to ensure we have pre-bookable appointments for 3, day, 5 day and 14 day requirements.

  6. Review titled Had great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Despite several issues publicised with the practice, I personally have had great care. From the HCA who is the foot soldier of the surgery and unsung hero of the practice up to the GP. My only negative comment is the difficulties of getting appointments with the same Gp and No continuity with consultations. Receptionist do not always have empathy but this is improving. Overall the practice seems to have overall improved.?

Thank you for your lovely comment. In regard to continuity of care this has been impacted by all practices due to the huge demands on services and the desire to provide patients with the most timely access to appointments. We will continue to strive to improve our service wherever possible.

I have been trying for 3 days to submit an e-consult. Each occasion the information page says that it is nor possible to submit today. E-consult can be submitted from 8 am Monday to Friday, yet I can’t submit today Friday 21st April at 8:20 am. Pathetic.

I tried to book an appointment on Thursday April 6th .Firstly I was told the number was not recognised and then that the line was busy Eventually I spoke to someone who said a doctor would phone me Twice I got a call but after 1 ring I was cut off I checked my phone and its OK. I phoned the surgery and was told to try again on Tuesday .I needed to see a doctor as a follow up to a hospital visit to review my meds So I now have to suffer pain in the meantime .

Dear Alan, we apologise for your experience with the practice. we try to give the best service we can as a practice and are sad to hear this was the case. looking at your comment it appears there must have been a fault between your line and ours. We have checked and it appears no other instances were reported like this on the day. Also we apologise that when our DR rang you twice, the call was not completed however we assume this was the same issue. Hopefully this has been sorted for you however we have a great pharmacy team that can support you without having to wait for a DR.

..had a meeting 3 weeks ago and was told if I still had a problem to contact them a week later have been trying for the last fortnight, rang them at 8 , 172 times and when I did get through was told no appointments and to try again. Tomorrow...or phone 111...slowly losing the will to live with this surgery service is worse than bad...

  10. Review titled Great doctors but.....

I have an ongoing chronic disease. Rang surgery 40 times before I got through. Spoje to a less than sympathetic "health customer service rep" who had no understanding about what I rang about. 20 minutes after 8 and nothing (not even a call back) available.

Firstly thanks for your feedback, we are pleased you think we are a great Doctor's surgery. We apologise that you feel our patient services team were not as sympathetic as you would have liked, we try to make sure all our team respond in a sympathetic way but are sorry this fell below the service you expected on this occasion. Like all GP practice we are exceptionally busy and receive around 700 calls per day with an average of 250 appointments available per day which does mean not everyone can be seen on the day they contact us. we do however have e-consultations so that we can contact patients with a less urgent need in a timely manner.
