    I have used the callback method twice now to save being sat waiting in a queue The first was for an appointment for my daughter struggling with her asthma, it was the afternoon and I never had a call back. We called 111 and took her to hospital instead. The other was for myself called at 8am, got the callback at 9:45ish and was told if I waned an appointment I should call at 8am - erm! I did! This was the callback from that queue! Clearly doesn’t work!!!

    I am in my late 60's and fortunately rarely need to see a doctor. I got a call from the clinical pharmacist today and was very impressed. She treated me holistically and gave me options about regular medication statins etc and regular health checks. Well done prevention is always better than trying to cure things later.

    I have been on hold for over an hour and a half waiting to get test results. I was 37 in the queue when I joined. Staff are either entirely inefficient or, more likely, GPS need to hire more staff. When you are required to call at specific times it’s unreasonable to be kept waiting for so long.

Firstly, may I apologise for the recent experience you have had with us and the call wait times and appointment booking system. GPS Healthcare strive to ensure that the needs of patients are met, if not exceeded, in relation to the ability to see or be contacted by a Doctor, Nurse or any other clinician. We strive to ensure that there are an adequate number of appointments available to patients and generally this works well. We do listen to feedback from patients and we have recently introduced a new appointment system which will increase the number of on the day appointments as well as a shorter waiting time for appointments to become available for both face to face and online appointments, this will also include later appointment times with Doctors. We understand and empathise with patients, however appointment availability and current demand in order to suit everyone’s particular need is not always possible. General Practice across the Country face the same challenges and GPS Healthcare is not isolated in this. We endeavour to provide an excellent service and to all intents and purposes do so. We thank you for your feedback and hope that your next interaction with the Practice is a more positive one.     Phoned in morning got perfect response to my problem. Immediate follow up and then appointment later same day my condition was immediately diagnosed and came home with medication to treat it and peace of mind.

    2nd day running I have pressed 1 for phone back call at Yew Tree Surgery, needless to say no phoneback. I am main carer for my 87 year old housebound mother trying to find out when she will get her flu and covid jab as she has carers coming in - thats all I want to know, at wits end

    I called last week, after being in a phone queue for 25 minutes i was told to call back today when the doctors rotas would be released. Ive now been on hold 53 mins and am customer 22 in a queue. Its not acceptable

    Lovely GP took one look at me and realised that I needed a fast track cancer check. Referred that day and seen less than 48hrs later at Breast Clinic at Solihull Hospital. Thankfully, all clear after scans but thank you so much for your efficiency.

    I booked an appointment last week, for my annual review call, took 45 mins on the phone to get through to make the appointment. Today (10th August) I waited from 12:00 to 17:00 to received this call from the clinical pharmacist, that did not happen. So rang the surgery, this took 25 mins to get through, only to find out that they were not available to make this review call. Why was I not informed that this call was not going to happen & left waiting around for five hours! I asked the receptionist, do I really need this review. All I want to do is order repeat prescriptions without having to ring the surgery every time, so just need the online system updating. My blood test showed normal results, although I would like to know the actual details of the results, I'm not sure I need or want a review & go through this awkward process of contacting someone to make an appointment. I would like someone to contact me via email to explain why its so difficult to deal with the GP surgery.

    The attitude of the receptionists is appalling and they are extremely argumentative when it’s not warranted. I received a phone call regarding a prescription request and was told in future to state my full name, DOB and address. I stated to the receptionist that it is all included at the bottom where I had signed the email. The receptionist proceeded to argue this fact even though I had the email in-front of me. I was told regardless my prescription was ordered and it would be ready in 48hours. Two trips to the pharmacy and four days later still no prescription?! Not good enough when I am now running low on my medication.
